ONE STONE = 14 POUNDS.  SHE WENT INTO LIVER FAILURE WHILE PREGANT. SHE LOST HALF HER WEIGHT IN ONE YEAR. THAT'S 238 POUNDS. THEN SHE GOT PREGANT. SOUNDS LIKE A HIGH RISK PREGANT. I WONDER IF THE WEIGHT LOSS AND THEN LOSS OF THE BABY HAS HER IN A DEEP DEPRESSION. SHE NEEDS PSCH HELP TO HELP HER DEAL WITH THE LOSS SHE HAS HAD----WEIGHT and BABY. JUST A THOUGHT!!  JOY

she may be one of the few who are having issues wih swallowing her food . when she says she can not swallow because it is painful, then they should check her out and make sure its not a problem that can be fixed. its not always a mental issue. maybe just maybe something went horribly wrong with her surgey..
that is such a sad story .

read this with great interest. She has the gastric band. But they mistakenly call it a gastric bypass. And truth is, if my surgeons saw one of us like that, they'd take the band right out. And have done that. She needs serious help. And them confusing both surgeries is JUST WRONG! They are on opposite ends of the spectrum.

A good friend of mine who I work with had to have her lap band removed but it left an indention of the band on her stomach so she still has restriction.
I think this poor girl was just completely uneducated about what was done to her body. Seems no back up support was there either..

After consulting with my British friends (one of whom is in the journalism industry), The Daily Mail is a tabloid.  A mid- to high-end tabloid, but still just a tabloid.  They are not interested in truth or objectivity, only sensationalism.

Because of the inaccuracies in the article and the newspaper itself, I cannot believe that this is the 'straight scoop.'

It may be from a tabloid in Britain, but this story was in my Yahoo news feed and that headline linked to a local news channel's website. Then that story linked to the original Daily Mail story so I posted the Daily Mail link here. If you Google "British teen gastric bypass" the story is now posted all over the place.

Inaccuracies aside, it is now spreading all over the internet and uninformed people will believe what they read. Sigh.

I feel horrible for this girl since there is obviously something else going on here (medically, aside from the depression) and she doesn't appear to be getting the correct help. I can only hope that a GOOD doctor sees this story and reaches out to her. My heart goes out to her.
