How are vitamins handled while in the hospital?

I didn't start them until I was home from the hospital.

No, I do not take any other meds thank goodness!  My calcium and B12 are liquid and have chewable multi's so hopefully all is ok there.  Plan on taking my vit's w/me to my pre-op just to be sure I am taking the right stuff though.  Thanks again for the info.


My iron is in the capsule form though....hopefully that will mix well w/some Crystal Light or in a protein drink.  I have also seen where some people take Biotin, can that be found in liquid form?  I have taken it in the past, but only in pll form.  Just curious.

you can get iron chewables. Mines are cherry flavor :)

For my RNY I was told not to bring anything, the hosp provided me with all my meds. I didn't strt vitamins until a week after surgery. For all the other times I have been in the hosp post op, the have given me a banana bag (vitamins on your IV).

I didn't start mine until I was about 2 weeks out - at my doctor's directions.
