Happy Memorial Day to everyone!

As of today...I've lost 1/2 of the weight that I wanted to lose prior to RNY and now I've got the other 1/2 (60 lbs) to go.  I feel wonderful now after having lost the 60 so I can't imagine how much better I'll feel when I reach my goal.  I can tell a big difference in my energy level and my desire to get up and go  and interest in doing stuff and getting stuff done, where as before I didn't want to get up from the bed.  Standing up on my painful feet was a huge problem for me.  My feet still bother me (heel spurs) but losing weight is the best medicine for it according to my podiatrist and I'm on my way to less painful feet for sure.

It's a huge change for me and I'm so excited I took this journey.  It was the best decision EVER for me.   I'm looking forward to seeing the next 60 lbs come off.

I can tell a change in others attitudes towards me as well.  People are starting to notice me again.  Feels good.  They acknowledge my weight loss and are proud of me.  Last week,  I had a huge pull-cart full of videos that I was trying to get down a set of steps at the front of a building.  The ramp was being repaired so there was no other choice but to slowly roll the cart down the steps.  As I neared the 1/2 way point.  A guy who was parked along the street looked up & saw me and he jumped out of his vehicle and came up to me and offered to help lift the cart to the sidewalk so I wouldn't have to continue to slowly edge the cart  down the steps.  That was really nice of him.  Personally, I still think he'd have helped me even if I had been 60 lbs heavier because guys here in the south tend to be nice like that and assist women no matter about SIZE, but for some reason I kept thinking about it and wondering if I'd have been 60lbs heavier would he indeed have gotten out of his car to generously help me with a smile on his face. Guess I'll never know.   I'd like to think so but the reality is that now that I've lost 60 lbs, I've noticed alot more courtesy shown to me by men especially as well as women.  There is a difference in how I'm  treated now-- than just 3 short months ago prior to RNY.  No biggie.  I'm just glad I'm getting healthier.  Doesn't matter how people treat me but I have noticed a change.  I'm rolling with it.

I've got 11 more lbs and then I'll hit ONEDERLAND.  I haven't been there in about 6 years (1995) so that will be something to celebrate!  Can't wait!!!!!!   LIFE IS GOOD!
