Almost 5 months and nothing makes me sick.  Whats up with that.  I am still loosing weight.  I can't eat much food but I can eat pizza, rice, pasta and cereal.  I used to not be able to drink milk.  Now I drink it with no problem.  I have lost 73lbs in 5 months and had to buy a new belt.  Who else can tolerate anything?

Thankfully no, I dump on sugars and fats. But carbs no longer make me dump. I've lost 63 pounds (today anyway- some days more, some days less due to constipation). Please make better choices than potatoes, rice and cereals (unless it's protein fortified).

I went through the same thing....I had my original surgery in 2001 - over time I could tolerate ANYTHING (but milk lol)....I would sometimes get sick on sugars. Eventually, I started to gain weight......The past 2 years I was very sick....chest pains, throwing up alot etc.....but could still eat anything! So I researched and found out my stomach/pouch had stretched....and a limb formed. Plus my surgeon said I had a mechanical failure as well.......It was a nightmare...
Long story short.....eating more, the limb carried extra food so when my stomach was empty it would over flow...causing more gain. SOOOO I had to have a revision, scar tissue removal and a hernia repair. Dont get to this point. Make smart choices.........This is not brain surgery only stomach. It is hard to change the brain and old habits creep up quick! grrrrr...lord I know this.....but I would hate to see you gain y our weight back that you worked so hard to lose.
Now I am down 26 lbs...plus the 70lbs I did keep off from my original surgery........I now make smart choices, eat healthy......exercise...yeah not so much LOL...weight loss is slower this time. I am 5 weeks out and down 26lbs...so it is slowly coming off. But I am making a lifestyle change something I never did before.....So it is up to you!
Eating better makes you feel better at least for me it does......
I wish you much luck....success.....and smart choice making! Bless you...

Thank you for scaring the hell out of me!!!! just when I thought I could get back to a normal life.  I don't eat too much of that stuff just a taste.  How do you know if you need a revision?  I do excercise everyday.  I have my protein shakes also.  I just eat those foods in moderation.  How do you know if your pouch has stretched?  Give me some signs you went through.  Do you think something is wrong with me?  I have diabetes, and my diabetes is the best its ever been in 20 years.  I am almost off insulin.  I think the surgery helped,  That was my main goal, was to get my diabetes in control.  My doctor says I am doing great!!!!  Is she overlooking something?  Thank you for sharing, Thats why I like this site.

LOL, you are welcome (I think)  - Just think of this as your new "normal" life! We will never be normal again. Nor do you really want to be this is what got us there in the first place!

As for me......I was very sick......never full and had vomiting quite often. I was 10 years post op and was vomiting alot....which I thought was odd....Long story short and 2 years of research later. I went for a swallow study...which revealed a large pouch and large opening in and out......plus a limb ( I know gross) that grew and held onto food causing it to over load into my pouch causing weight gain. I also had a hernia and lots of chest pain.......due to the hernia and then the surgeon removed scar tissue. He said he never saw anything like it......But now I am good to go! I know the stomach will stretch that is part of this surgery. ....it is just about making smart choices. I realize now FULLY that this is just a tool.....not brain surgery.  So far so good I am down 26 lbs plus the 70 I lost from the first surgery. I want to lose another 40-50 and I will be happy. It is very slow this time....I am 5 weeks out now from my revision.

I am a diabetic too for about 23 yrs. On insulin, but small quantities. My diabetes never went away the first time. They actually thought I had type 1 not type 2 due to the fact that it did not resolve itself. So we will see this time around.....I hope it vanishes.....I hope yours does too!

If you are in doubt that you need a revision or can eat alot.....have a swallow study done. It is painless and quick. Tastes awful but worth it. Honestly, I would get back on track.....eat well for the most part. And remember you are only human...we all make bad choices. Just remember tomorrow is a new day......so forgive, forget and move on to your goals that you have set.....

Good luck!!!! If you have any questions feel free to email me anytime!

Acceptance means that you can find the serenity within to let go of the past with its mistakes and regrets, move into the future with a new perspective, and appreciate the opportunity to take a second chance!

I'm not quite 3 months out and I can eat anything, which I'm thankful for.. but it makes it harder to make good choices but you have to do it!!!  There will be lots of time to eat that stuff once you get to goal.. you only have this short period of time to lose as much weight as possible! YOU CAN DO IT!!!!

Hi,  I am exactly 5 months tomorrow and I haven't found anything that I can't eat either but honestly it scares me because it makes me want to try the old foods that I loved so much.. just remember what got you to your pre-surgery weight and try to resist the bad choices.  It is a slippery slope : (    Good Luck!

I am almost 16 mos out and I have noticed that I am also able to eat pretty much anything.  Well, rice and pasta are definately out for me.  But I have started to keep a food journal again as I want to "check" myself to keep me on the right track.  I haven't gained any weight and I don't exercise anymore because I DON'T want to drop anymore either.  I would certainly watch what I'm putting into my pouch.  Pizze, rice, pasta and cereal are ok but NOT EVERYDAY.

I am perfectly content being perfectly UN-perfect

I can eat anything that I want as well. I can even have chocolate and chips. I make sure that my choices are healthy ones and that I am weighing everything for portion control. Protein first :D

A dream come true!
