ok so last week I had a bad scare and ended up at the gastro. He thinks I have a stitch bothering my pouch or an ulcer starting. I had been tasting blood but not seeing blood.

Well this morning I started doing my normal routine and started feeling icky again. even after the meds. Then I started tasting blood again. and ended up spitting up blood. I showed my hubby so he could witness it.....

Now I am worried again because this was something the doctor told me to look out for. I see them again on Tuesday but man I dont want to have to be scoped at 4 weeks post op.

That sounds scary...are you sure you want to wait until Tuesday to go see a doc?

Hope everything is ok.

If you are spitting up blood, I would not wait. Call your surgeons office. At least, that's what my discharge instructions said.

The scope is nothing, really, not bad at all and I'm a big baby.  You would rather them scope you and know what is going on than not know.  If it is an ulcer and it is bleeding it could be life threatening.  I'm surprised they didn't just go ahead and set you up to be scoped.

When I went in for my endoscopy I waited on the nurse, she started my IV and they took me back to the room to do it.  The last thing I remember was them making me roll on my side and putting the bite block in my mouth.  At that point my doctor asked me if I was ready for the happy drugs.  I nodded he told them to give me Versed and Nubain.  Next thing I know I was in recovery.  The doctor told my husband what was going on because I wouldn't remember it.  I vaguely remember his shock at finding the ulcer, he thought I just had gastroenteritis.  Other than that I had my DH explain what happened like 6 times that day.

I've been tasting blood lately too.  Now you have me wondering if it is related to my ulcer.  Looks like I'll be calling the doctor tomorrow.  If you're spitting up blood you need to call and they will probably send you to the ER.  That is nothing to play with as it could be life threatening.

I would go to the ER. The blood you spit up may only be a tiny bit of what is actually happening. Scopes are simple.
