im looking like mc hammer & vanilla ice had a baby with the butt of my jeans sagging to my knees! its horrible, but fabulous at the same time! i have every size of jeans in my closet from 22-32 except for 30 & thats what i need right now, lol of course. im not buying any clothes since ill (hopefully) just need smaller sizes soon, but how do i get around looking like a clown until the 28s fit me better? theyre all different brands (mostly lane bryant, but some avenues & catherines too) so most of them run smaller than their size says. ugh, so frustrating! ive got a super long way to go, but im already feeling so much better about myself i hate even walking outside in these clothes, LOL. any tricks out there? ive never found good plus size clothes at thrift stores before & honestly theyre pretty junky here. idk, just not digging my look right now, just complaining mostly, lol.

how quickly did you all go through sizes?

Thrift stores such as Goodwill and Salvation Army are definitely the way to go. And as you shrink out those begger clothes donate them immediately. You will never need them again.

the sizes are moving soooo slooooww for me, I'm down 86 lbs and I started at a size 28 I'm in the small size 24's now ( the larger 24's are too big now)..  which are starting to get baggy in the butt so 22's are probably soon but I don't have any smaller sizes in my closet to try so as soon as I can't wear any of these 24's anymore I'm going shopping I was planning to get a pair of casual and a pair of work pants in every size I need and just suffer through.. My tops are all size 22/24 and they are looking huge but I'm wearing them as long as possible.. it kills me to buy clothes I'll wear for a month.. hopefully the sizes start moving quickly!!  I'm thinking the summer stuff is on the sales racks by now so I might go and try to get a few things so I'm not forced to wear wool in September LOL

Yeah, sometimes you gotta bite the bullet & get new clothes b/c the saggy look is just not pretty AND doesn't do your weight loss honor! However, take advantage of consignment/thrift stores, ask relatives for clothes they want to donate or lend, go to your local support group and do a clothes exchange..... Heck, even Kohls sends $10 coupons periodically! What I did is stock up on sizes that I wasn't quite at and gradually cycled them in (and out when I sized down!!).

One thing you can try is to wash your clothes in ho****er and dry them on high heat so they shrink.

I am pre surgery and I have lost about 43 lbs and I walk around looking like I have a huge pile of crap in my pants...lol  Family keeps telling me, geeh your pants are gonna fall off....But I dont have the money to go buy any new clothes that after the surgery may not fit for long.  I cant wait until I get into more normal sizes that I can find at the local thrift stores.

I went down about a size a month. Thankfully we have great thrift stores here.

Before surgery I asked people how fast and kept getting "everyones different", I understand that
but its nice to have some idea...

I have gone down a size about every 3 weeks.  Here my favorite spot to buy clothes has been
Goodwill, they have specials and I can get dress pants and blouses as low as 50-cents each
(and I have bought LOTS at these prices)!

Clothes are fun, buying bras has been more challenging - someone told me as I go down in
band (44-42-40 etc) to go up in cup sizes (c-d, etc) and that has definately been the case.  For
the first few months I wore a good sports bra that had a good stretch then I didnt worry so much
about size or cup...just something to keep in mind.

Make sure you find some clothes that make you FEEL good too, its wonderful journey so try and
enjoy it as well.  My "treat" has been silky jammies!!
