thanks Hala, my gyn is the doc I use for my labs and stuff as she is the most willing to work with me but she doesn't want to order B12 shots while I am in normal range and neither did my surgeon *****tired.

I need to re-test. If they are still slipping with my amped up levels I'll push her harder or find another doctor.

Seems like the farther out people are the better the shots are for the B12.

Go get your labs done, just sayin .  You don't want surpises, catch what you can before it becomes a problem.

I know, you know; want to push you to do it.

If you do labs while you are still taking the B12 daily - they labs will show higher level of B12.
I was told to hold off on B12 for a week and test it.    They you may know if you getting the B12 and retaining.   That what I was told by an old doc.    My results were OK with subliguals. But my blood red blood cells showed B12 deficiencies.   (they were large).
that's when my doc asked me when I took the B12 - how far from the test.  and told me to get "real " B12 - to wait a week.

the week after - B12 was just 500.
And I was taking 5000mcg metylcobalmin once a day (at least).

High MCV

In presence of hemolytic anaemia, presence of reticulocytes can increase MCV. In pernicious anemia (macrocytic), MCV can range up to 150 femtolitres. An elevated MCV is also associated with alcoholism[2] (as are an elevated GGT and a ratio of AST:ALT of 2:1). Vitamin B12 and/or folic acid deficiency has also been associated with macrocytic anemia (high MCV numbers).

I do shots every other week.  The little vile my wife gives it to me so she knows the dosage .

She injects in my Arm and does it Deep IM.

My last tests are kind of mis leading since it was done 2 days after a shot. I know at 3 weeks after a shot I will be in the low 500s which is why I do the shot every 2 weeks.

I don't know how much they give me in the shots I just go in. lol I just started getting the injections seeing as my b12 dropped from 985 to 263, So I had to go every day for a week and now I will go monthly to dr for  a shot. I would give it to myself but my ins will only pay for them if I go into the office. whacko if  u ask me!

I do the Nasocobal nasal spray. After insurance and company coupon it's free for me.
I don't know what my lab results number is, but the doctor just told me it was great so nasal spray is what I stick to.
