OT - Are massage chairs supposed to bruise???
I was so excited to sit in my father in laws amazing massage chair last night. It is really strong and I can feel a really good massage. I had it work my upper back for a long time and it felt good but today my back feels so bruised and in pain. Is that normal? Is the chair just not very good or did my muscles get a good workout???
So funny you mention that. I went for a pedicure a couple of weeks ago and they have the massage chairs while your feet get worked on. The next day I *swear* I felt a bruise on my back where one of the massage points was!

It's actually quite common to feel sore or bruised after using a strong massage chair, especially if it applied deep pressure for a long time. Your muscles may not be used to that level of intensity it's similar to post-workout soreness. Try using lower settings next time and hydrate well to help your muscles recover.
