Foods You Can Never Have Again Post Surg??
Some people (about 30%) get sick if they eat very much sugar. Even most of them, though, can eat small amounts of it. Like, I can eat one cookie or half a small brownie.
Some people become lactose intolerant so you'd have to give up regular milk. But you could drink Lactaid milk or soy milk.
Eating lots of fat or carbs won't help you lose weight or keep the weight off so you probably won't want to eat lots of french fries, potato chips, etc. However, you will most likely be able to tolerate a few now and then.
Some people don't feel well if they eat much bread, rice or pasta. Most people can tolerate at least small amounts.
A few people have trouble eating meat, especially in the beginning. Most have no problem with it though.

I eat bagels with cream cheese
I've had cheesecake

I do not dump so I can pretty much eat whatever I please
everyone is different.
Personally, if I start with the simple carbs...I'm addicted for the day. Even the whole wheat options set me into a binge so I do avoid bread, pretzels, crackers, crusts, potatoes, rice etc... and of course anything for me that has real sugar makes me tired and nauseous and dizzy so I opt for sugar free things always.
So there you have it ... nothing is off limits, it's all about the choices you make. You have to make protein your focus, especially early out, since you would have a limited amount of room in your pouch. So that means your plate might consist of a protein and a vegetable - because that's all that will fit. Not much room for those starchy carbs and if there is room it will probably just be a taste or two.
Things will taste differently after surgery and things you like now you may not like then. Things you don't like now you might like. It's all a roll of the dice.
But you'll be healthier and food will take on a different role.
Good luck on your decision.

Surgery: Dec 2009, lost 100 lbs
Just because I can eat something doesn't mean I will. I get triggered so easily,
maybe it's because I haven't yet figured out what works for me to eat long term.
But I don't eat at all like I did pre-surgery. Sometimes that's hard. But I have to remember the cost-benefit ratio- I don't want to be what I was like pre-surgery.
