For the first time in my adult life...

I have a blood pressure of 114/68 WITH OUT medication!

My weight is 168...I have a 6 as my second number!

I can eat a small amount of snack food and stop before I go overboard, and I do it without even thinking about it!

I can wear leggings and skinny jeans, and I look good!

My overall cholesterol is 107.

I know that I had some fear pre surgery, and I had some silly regrets post surgery, but now I am very sure that this really is one of the best things I have ever done for myself.  I wanted to post this for the pre op and the people who are days and weeks away from surgery.  This is amazing, life changing, fantastic.  It makes the impossible possible.  It doesn't happen over night, it is a tough road, but rough is the road that leads to great rewards!

That's brilliant and a great inspiration to people like me who are going through the nerves and collywobble stage that is just pre op.  I've almost assured myself that I will have complications and problems in the future.  Well done on your achievements and good health for ever more.

Don't be nervous it is a great thing.  It is an amazing thing.  You will not regret this decision.  I have heard people share who have had some complications and they still do not regret this.  My good family friend has been in and out of the hospital for some complications a year out and she really does not regret it.  I have no complications, thank God, and hope to stay that way.

Good luck to you

I love the word "collywobble"!

"Support fosters your growth. If you are getting enough of the right support, you will experience a major transformation in yourself. You will discover a sense of empowerment and peace you have never before experienced. You will come to believe you can overcome your challenges and find some joy in this world." Katie Jay

Awesome achievement!!! It's really great to frame your success as the whole picture - health, mind and size - and the best gift you've given yourself is a longer & healthier life!

Lisa, what a great post. It should really help those that are considering RNY, those that are pre-op and for those of us that are a few months behind you, you are truly inspiring. You have done so well. I love all of your NSV's and your weight loss. You go and and ROCK those skinny jeans.......
