Calories
When I asked my NUT about calories, she said to concentrate on eating good foods and proper portions. When I read here about calories (for those about 4mths out) they are in the 600-800 range. I can't seem to stay below 1000~! Overall I am not eating bad stuff (the worst is when I have weight control oatmeal with dried cranberries /raisins and walnuts).
For instance - today I will have almost 1100 calories.
B - About Time Mocha Mint protein with 8oz skim milk
L - baked pork chop, 3oz; 1/4 cup of cream style corn; 1 med red potato, boiled
S - Laughing Cow Light cheese wedge, 4 Triscuit crackers
D - will be the same as lunch
S - 1/2 Red Delicious Apple with 1 Laughing Cow Light cheese wedge
According to myfitnesspal.com that totals 1068 calories!!! I am thinking of trying to find a replacement for dinner. Maybe some chicken will be lower calorie? I don't want to fail this thing.

I'm almost 4 months out and I track every bite I put in my mouth. I work hard to only eat 1000 a day which is about 100 g protein and 80 g carbs. I"m losing 2-3 lbs a week and feel great.
morning: 1 scoop muscle milk + 1 scoop click protein drink (made with water)
snack: 1/2 cup cottage cheese with cinnamon and splenda
lunch: 3 oz meatloaf plus 1/2 cup veggies
snack: 6 oz greek yogurt mixed with sugar free pudding and splenda
dinner: 3-6 oz white fish plus 1/2 cup veggies
snack: 1-2 oz mixed nuts
I know we hear lots about post ops not taking in enough calories because they can't eat more than a few tablespoons at a time. I am certainly not one of those people and never was, even when I was closer to surgery. It's the fact that we are all different in our recovery.
The only thing I see in your diet that I try to avoid is the carbs -- Triscuits, potatoes, corn. I know it's hard to eat cheese wedges without crackers though! Do try to avoid them.
Good luck to you, and congratulations on how far you've come!
I actually have only just started the Triscuits (this week) on the ok from my NUT. She doesn't want it to be an everyday thing, but for the "crunch cravings" I can have them. I can have one starch (potato usually) but today got a little crazy adding in the corn.
Thank you so much for your input! I love steaming tilapia and some broccoli, but I seem to get hungry soon after? NUT said fish is a softer protein so I may not be able to use it as a "staple"

I am 7 month out, but when I was 4 months out I ate about 1200 calories a day and other then a big stall month 5, which we all have, I have pretty much lost every month. I am down over 100 so I think that is pretty solid adivce,
You also do not want you calories to be too low, like the other poster said, that will keep you from losing too!
What i see about your food is try to eat real cheese instead of the laughing cow..there are only 2 grams of protein in the laughing cow..i eat them ust occassionally. i eat low fat cheese lots of cheddar, co jack, swiss. and i eat them on 4 multigrain club crackers. Or other multigrain crackers. I do oatmeal for breakfast every day i am home and not working. I use good old out of the container and not the little envelopes of oatmeal. I only put some wheat germ and about a tsp of splenda br. sugar in my oatmeal. And i only eat potatoes (i love potatoes) like once a week or every couple weeks. Push for more protein..its low calorie and less higher calorie foods.
