I love cheese too, but in my opinion that is NOT cheese!

Here is the complete ingredient list:

"Low Moisture Part-Skim Mozzarella Cheese (Pasteurized Part Skim Milk, Salt, Enzymes), Bleached Wheat Flour, Enriched Wheat Flour (Flour, Niacin, Ferrous Sulfate, Thiamin Mononitrate, Riboflavin, Folic Acid), Soybean Oil, Contains 2% or Less of each of the Following: Modified Food Starch, Salt, Natural Flavor, Whey, Dextrose, Dried Onion, Natural Butter Flavor, Dried Garlic, Spices, Yellow Corn Flour, Sugar, Yeast, Caramel Color, Paprika Extractives, Soy Lecithin, Leavening (Sodium Acid Pyrophosphate, Sodium Bicarbonate, Sodium Aluminum Phosphate), Corn Starch, Maltodextrin, Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose, Monoglycerides, Diglycerides, Artificial Flavor, Tocopherols, Methylcellulose, Triglycerides, Sodium Ascorbate, EDTA (as a Preservative)."

FarmRich "Cheese Sticks" contain all sorts of horrible processed food ingredients derived from corn and chemicals from a lab.  Eating food like this is what lead us to need RNY in the first place.  These chemicals and corn/soy-additives promote insulin resistance and diabetes.  Notice the vitmins they had to add back in that processing the flour destroyed?  Who knows what other nutrients are missing as well.

Real mozzarella cheese is milk, active cheese cultures, lipase enzyme and salt.  The breading is just flour and maybe egg to hold it together.  That product contains 42 ingredients!  Real cheese does not  contain corn-based products like corn starch, corn flour, maltodextrin, mono and di and triglycerides, methylcelluose and EDTA, a dangerous chemical preservative.

In my opinion, it is better to just get your own mozzarella cheese, dip it in an egg wash, coat it with flour and fry it!  Yummie and real!

I have to agree with David that this is a "food product" more than a real food. I love cheese, too, so I get where you're coming from but why not try something a little less processed and more natural and healthy? Just a thought. :)

Try a little pearls of fresh mozerrella (you can get this at the deli section) with little salsa as a cheese treat.  It is so good.  I love fresh mozerella.  You are early still, but when you get cleared for fresh veggies, try it with fresh tomotoes, fresh basil, a little olive oil, and black pepper to make a nice caprese salad.
