Question about YOUR NUT.
I sought out my own NUT and she is very familiar with Bariatric requirements. She has been a savior to me. Although my dietary needs most time do not align with a good Post op diet, since I have a minimum carb requirement and have been told at specific times to have simple carbs along with 2-3 times the calories most post ops take.
But all of this is due to the fact I have chosen to live a very different lifestyle in my post-op life. One that affords me such luxuries.

I have been instructed to avoid white carbs and starches. No specific number though I try to keep it below 50 g per day. We were instructed to get 65 g of protein per day (Not quite there yet, but I am only 5 weeks out and had 2 dilatations so far, with another in my future). We were also instructed to get 64 oz of SF liquids in. (Get 56-64+ oz daily). Really don't have much contact with the NUT unless I have questions, but everything is pretty much straight forward at this point in my journey.

At 6 weeks when I moved to solid foods, I was told to try and limit carbs t 15 grams per meal, and work towards 5-6 meals a day. So that would be 90 grams of carbs in a day.
As I get further out, my carb intake changes with my activity level. While I have not reached the point of being an endurance athlete, I am taining for endurance events and as such have expanded my food options. I still stay away from simple carbs, but my complex carbs on days when I have exercise sessions in excess of 1 hour (continuous) is higher than on the days I stick with just an hour of cardio or other form of exercise.
My Nut is very available via email, and typically responds within just a couple of hours. The bariatric practice has a couple of patients who have gone from MO to endurance athlete, so they understand that there is more to establishing our long term eating plans than simply what type of surgery we had.
Best of luck!
