Okay, I ate cheese slices.  I was hungry.  I am hungry for something that makes me feel satified and I ate them.   Four of them.   I can not fail at this.   I am really bummed!   I am 14 days out right now and I want to succeed.   I have my post op appt this week maybe I will find out what I can eat and how much now.

Hi  I am only 1 week post op and do not know if I have any great advice for you except do not beat yourself up about it. Learn from it and move on or it will only bring you down. I didn't think we were suppose to feel hungry but I do at times. I am also sick of sweet!! Take it slow and keep your head up!  maybe it is a good time to start to reward yourself in other ways. I know that there are a lot of great people with great advice on this site. I come here when I have questions or just need to see how other deal.  We are lucky to have the support and i plan on using it!  I have my post op (1 week) tomorrow. I am sure you will be fine!

yup, don't beat yourself up - but also, it's really important to try and adhere to your doc's eating plan! otherwise you might hurt yourself, so try and stick with it! good luck on your appt this week

Yep, no point in beating yourself up... that will only likely trigger the urge to eat.

Tomorrow is another day, and one day's lapse is nothing more than that.  The first few weeks are always the hardest.  It will be better once you are able to eat more normally (in terms of choice of foods),

what the others said, and really you could have made much worse choices. you could have come on here and said i ate half a bag of chips, or a pint of ice cream etc.

since surgery cheese has been one of my go-to snacks. depending what kind you had it can be decently high in protein, low-fat and satisfying. when i go into crave mode at night i take 2 slices of fresh mozzarella, sprinkle with garlic & onion powders and stick it in the microwave for 15-30 seconds.

What kind of cheese slices?  American? Milk-based?  Oil-based?  2% or full fat?

Four slices of Kraft 2% American would be 180 calories, 16g of protein, 8g of carbs, and 8g of fat. There could definitely be worse things to eat.  Two eggs has more calories, less protein, and more fat than that.  And depending on what your nut says, a certain amount of carbs and fat are OK.
