Other procedures at the same time as RNY

It's okay and it's not a bad suggestion.  We've done so many of these procedures and that is something the surgeon and the vendor stress.  I suppose to cover themselves in the event of pregnancy!

I am going to ask why not. See I asked here got some answers and no one thought I was CRAZY so maybe the wont either. My OB is pro weightloss surgery so hopefully we can work something out. Heck even if we just do the tube tying at the same time I will be happy.

I didn't mean a full body lift at time of RNY LOL I meant they do lots of areas at one time.
I also know that it is very dangerous to get pregnant after having a ablation done so I am going for my tubes tied since hubby is scared to get snipped. It can happen and with my luck I would be the one it happens to. Had to do fertility treatments with our first 2 the last 2 my body de died to surprise us! I'd rather not be surprised after RNY and a ablation to find out I'm pregnant!

Thanks ladies!!!!!

I want the ablasion to make my period stop or heck even lighten. I stop working out for a week because I bleed so much. It is awful!

Well good luck with everything.  Hopefully you can get it all done in one surgery and be done with it!

I will say that uterine ablation was the easiest procedure I've ever had.

I think it doesn't hurt to ask. I think getting your tubes tied and Rny at the same time sounds like a great idea.

I  had an umbilicial hernia repair  done at the same time. It actually caused me more pain post op than the Rny!

I had my RNY open and my Dr. offered to tie my tubes while he was at it. He removed my gallbladder and would've taken my appendix if I'd still had it! One stop shopping. Good Luck!

Do you think your recovery was longer with the additional surgeries?

I don't know. My doctor keeps you in the hospital for 3 or 4 days and I got a fever so I stayed for 5. By the time I got out I felt good and never used another pain pill and didn't sleep in a chair. I think I read 3 books in the hospital that was a long time. (look who I'm talking to geesh)

How you feeling? so far so good?

I'm good. I kinda forgot how much surgery takes out of you. I can do more but then I hit the wall and wilt like a flower. My numbers are good and I'm weaning down on the dreaded steroids. I'm off wor****il April!
Thanks for asking Judi!

I wouldn't want to be "under" long enough for all of that. I know it saves the expense of a separate procedure. However, being as large as I was, I wanted no other risk factors to come into play. Good luck,
