ok at the hospital right before surgery i weighed 401 and the day after surgery i talked one of the student nurses into letting me weigh and i was 413 at my one week post op i was 393 and then in another week i was 384 i weighed today and i was only 380 thats only 21 pounds my first month i thought i was suppose to lose 10% of my total body weight that would be 40 pounds.  If i count all the fluid they pumped into me to make me 413 then it would be only 33 pounds.  is this normal, shouldn't i be losing more, am i doing something wrong? i eat alot of greek yogurt and it has alot of carbs should i be eating things with less carbs? need advice please

21 pounds your first month is awesome! That's an average of 5 pounds a week. Sounds like your right on track

I agree it sounds like you're doing great. I'm not sure where the 10% came from, but I don't think a number like that could be accurate considering that so many people get the surgery and there are so many different variables.

I have never heard anything about being expected to lose 10% of your body weight in the first month.  It definitely did not happen that way for me.

I was right at the 30-40 lb range after a month - because I gain 9 lbs of fluid with the surgery.  I think you are right where you should be.

You thought you were supposed to lose 40 pounds in just one month?  Well, that would be pretty unusual.  20 pounds is more the norm, but it really varies from person to person.

21 lbs in 1 month is awesome, when was the last time you lost that much in a month ? It's a tool, not a miracle worker :)  Eat the greek yogurt, plain non fat and add SF syrup or pudding/jellow mixes to it.

I love these charts because they always make me seem like a rock star (120lbs - 20lbs under goal in less than 7 months)
