Poll - cost of vitamins

Difficult for me to say because I typcially buy in bulk so I don't purchase vitamins that often. I buy most of mine in bulk and buy generic brand at Sam's club. I get my calcium citrate, b-12 sublinguals and my B complex from there. The bottles last forever. I buy my multi-vitamin at CVS or Walgreens. I usually get the chewable centrums or there off brand if they carry one because they typically have the same ingredients. I would say I am around 1.00 a day when I add in the A I supplement from vita lady and the D3 that I take.

 I can tell you where NOT to buy vitamins.  LOL.  BariatricEating.com and SusanMariaLeach.com ... they do not ship them out.

The Journey vitamins are crappy vitamins, anyway.  I would not want to buy them.

 Okay, I always do better when I can see my work.  So here goes...

My Centrum chewable multi are about $9.00 for a bottle of 100 tablets. Since I take 2 per day, that's a 50 day supply.
My iron is about $7 for a bottle of 100, and I take one a day.
My Probiotic is about $18 for 60, and I take 2 per day, so a one-month supply.
My calcium is $9 for a bottle of 60, and I take 3 per day.
And my Vitamin D is free, because I get it Rx.

So.

Centrum = $.18 per day
Iron = $.07 per day
Probiotic = $.60 per day
Calcium = $.45 per day.

So total, I spend about $1.30 per day on vitamins, or $39 per month.

Oh, I forgot B12. Damn. Well... That's another $6, and I have no idea how many drops it contains, but I'd guess about 2 months' supply. So let's just round it up to $42 per month.

As for money saving tips, I don't have store loyalties. I have a subscription to the Sunday paper and I clip coupons.  I scour the sales ads to see which stores have sales of vitamins, and when there's a BOGO deal or a really deep stackable coupon deal, I stock up on what I need. Between Walmart, Walgreens, CVS, and our local grocery, I can usually get a decent deal.

Are you getting D3 or D2??  From what I understand, only D2 is available by perscription, and we need dry D3.

 Charlie- I would be curious to know what brand of vitamins you usually stick to? Just whatever is on sale? I'm not that great at clipping coupons but I don't want to spend more than $50 on vitamins a month.

My calcium is Nature's Best (from Walgreens)
My multi is Centrum orange chewables (from Walmart)
My probiotic is Walgreens brand Super Probiotic capsules, with 20M cultures
My iron is Walgreens' brand ferrous gluconate tablets, 240mg
And my B12 is Nature's Bounty total B Complex sublingual liquid drops (which taste like crap. The straight B12 taste really good, like cherry syrup. But the B complex is awful. But it's got B1, B2, B6, and B12)

The only thing I'm really loyal to is my Centrum. I've never found a mutli so complete that tastes as good at this one. Everything else, I just buy what's on sale.

Hmmm...

I take calcium citrate (6 per day), BA multi chewables (2 per day), BA iron chewable (1 per day), a super B complex (1 per day), dry D3 chewable (3 per day), vitamin C (1 per day) and a squirt of B-12 nasal once a week.

My daily total is $1.60.  The nasal B12 is the biggest contributor at .56 per day.
