Any one had any trouble with the new Quest bars?  Years ago while on Atkins (Yep, I know we have all been there...LOL).  I ate a chocolate bar with maltilol and stayed in the bathroom the rest of the night.  Ever since I've stayed away from them.  I would love to try the new strawberry cheesecake.

I don't have trouble with them as long as I only eat half. Any time I eat a whole one, whether its the ones with sugar alcohols or the other ones, I get really queasy and sweaty and bleh feeling.

I guess you dump on them as I found out I do...

Funny things happened to me: On Sunday I dumped on a quest bar. It is not suppose to happen. But it did. Today after I ate one I checked m,y blood sugar and 15 min after I finished the bar my Blood sugar got up to 200... that only can indicate that either there is more sugar in them that the company said it is - or that my body (and yours and some other people) react and we actually absorb the fiber - and use that as carbs. No more Quest bars for me.

And I will have to return the one I bought from them. Except the one I plan to send for testing...
BTW: I have severe RH post op RNY and more than 5 gr of sugar or 10 gr of net carbs gives me a real trouble...

Quest bars do not have malitol. They have erythritol. These is the SA that gives the least troubles. I can have that - while any other SA is a big no-no for me.

The fiber in them - what gives me more trouble.. It took some time to get used to it.

The strawberry cheesecake bar did not bother me.  But then, sugar alcohols usually don't.

This likely will be of absolutely no help...but, I have absolutely no issues with any of the Quest bars that I've tried thus far...my first order included the assortment pack...

As an aside, Quest Nutrition is an excellent company with which to do business...the other variety that I initially ordered was the chocolate brownie...I had opened one that appeared to have had a bite taken before it was individually packaged...when I brought it to their attention, not only was my concern taken seriously, but as a gesture of good faith they replaced the entire box with another at no cost to me!

Also, if you are going to order them, please do so through Nik's site...help out a fellow member!

yeap. The one you had - had no SA -  no wonder they did not bother you. NO SA. None.

The Original line is sweeten with Sucralose - Splenda. If you do not have issues with Splenda - then get the original line.

The ALL natural use SA - Erythritol

"While Erythritol is classified as a sugar alcohol it is ENTIRELY different than all of the others. It does not upset stomachs, it contains only 0.2 calories per gram and has little to no impact on blood sugar. We know it's important to give you control over your nutrition which is why our All Natural bars are sweetened with Stevia and Erythritol, and our Original Line is sweetened with Sucralose."

Let's clarify a few things:
there are the original quest bars:
and there are the all natural line.

As far as I know - the original line do not have any SA. And uses Sucralose - splenda - as a sweetener.

The All natural - are sweetened with Erythritol ... The Original line is sweeten with Sucralose - Splenda.  If you do not have issues with Splenda - then get the original line. NO SA. None.

yeah.... it just makes me feel bad.  Weird though because some things with higher sugar alcohols dont' bother me. Maybe it's the specific KIND of SA?

funny you should say that: I do eat them - or rather should say - used to eat them all the time.
