Quest Bars....

I found Quest bars at my local Vitaminn Shoppe and bought 3-4 bars to try out. OMG!! They are so dense and hard, i am afraid i will break a tooth trying to bite into the bar. Are they supposed to be like this? Evening breaking small pieces off the bar was tough.

I took one to work and ended throwing it away because it was too hard to eat. I am so disappointed.

Does anyone have suggestions for good tasting protein bars?

I've read that others pop them in the microwave for a few seconds to soften them up.

I wonder if maybe the bars you got were stale or something.  They are dense and heavy, but they are certainly not supposed to be so hard you could break a tooth.

I like to microwave them for 15 seconds or so, makes them nice and soft and kinda like a warm fresh cookie.

But I suggest taking the rest of yours back and returning them.  I think you got old stale ones.

I've cut them into three pieces then microwave for 20-30 seconds. They turn into a cookie-like consistency. Which ones did you get? I've noticed some flavors are softer than others. I'm not sure if it's staleness, as most had expiration dates of mid-2013 or later, but it could be the case. I agree with Kelly in contacting them to find out what to do with them. Good luck!

I ordered mine off Nik's website and got one of each kind in special pkging they offered.  My digestive system couldn't handle them but they were not hard.  My husband took mine to work and love them.

I just went through the sample packs and none of them were so hard I felt like I would break a tooth. They are dense and chewy and I love them!

They dense but should not be hard.
I cut mine up in 3 pieces and microwave.  The texture changes to more like a cookie.
