Walking probably helps the most with the gas. You can also take Gas-x and a heating pad might help.

Walking walking walking. I was up just hours after surgery and walking walking walking every waking hour walk a bit. Do it even if it's just up and down your hall 1 or 2 times at first. It really helps.
On the bright side you're already on soft foods. I had surgery on June 5th and I am still on Full Liquids UCK!

I hated my JP drain. It will come out soon. To repeat what the other ladies have stated, walking has been the biggest help to me in regards to gas. Good luck and God bless!
