Water Slides!!!

I took my nephews (14 and 16yrs), a friend of the younger, my sister, her friend, a friend from work and her 2 grandsons to a water park today.  A summer ritual.  One thing was different though ---- in years past (about the last 13years?) I walked around and guarded rafts, took photos and played in the lazy river.
Today  -  I RODE THE SLIDES!!!  My nephews and the other boy had a blast taking me up the rides.
The first slide my 16yr old nephew took me and a double rider tube up to the top of the stairs.  I started having an anxiety attack! I was so afraid that I wouldn't fit, or I couldn't climb on to the tube, or I would make us get stuck on the slide.  My nephew encouraged me and I climbed easily onto the tube and sat comfortably!! I turned to tell my nephew "I FIT!!" and the attendant pushed us down the slide.  I whooped and yelled and laughed so much I was afraid I was embarassing my very cool nephew.... but he was  laughing at me.   When we climbed out of the pool I turned to him and could feel my face beaming, my cheeks stretching with a smile and I felt like a 5yr old... "Can we go again?!!?"
He rode several rides with me, then passed me on to the y ounger boys to do the body slides. How FUN!!

I'm so happy for you.  I know too well the feeling of not fitting on water slides and amusement park rides alike.  congrats!

i did the waterpark for the first time in a long time last year. so much fun! i hate regular "land" rides, but love the water ones. i guess because if i fall or whatever it's into water and i can swim, rather than just splat on the concrete lol

Congrats!  I did a water park about 2 years ago with another RNY buddy and his partner (hmmm... Just realized that I have not heard from Tony in a couple of weeks....) and it was SO much fun!!!

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
