After my husband & I rode our bikes this morning to our place of employment, I'm thinking of just riding my bike to work from now on instead of driving. It was a nice little ride. Of course I won't be able to do that much in the winter but spring & summer, heck yeah! I'm just so thrilled my husband is actually getting up & doing some form of exercise with me. I love him to death & want him to get fit & healthy too. He said he will never do the surgery ever, so what little I can get him to do is awesome. He did start cutting back on some food intake & requested that I start precooking meals to freeze up for him & the kids. I'm thinking this is fantastic, so I have been off the past 6 days on vacation & cooking up all the meats in my freezer & portioning them out, labeling them & freezing them. I told the kids I'm done buying sweets that they would have to get it from fruits & that maybe on a rare occasion let them have something sweet for a treat. I really would like my family as a whole to get on a healthier path of eating & exercising. Good things are happening in my family & I'm tickled pink.

That is fantastic. I can't wait til I get to a low enough weight that I can start riding a bike around town. Haven't been able to find one that is comfortable or that can hold my weight at 360+ lbs.

I'm waiting for that too any ideas on what the weight limit might be and do it comfortably?   My son loves riding his bike....but if I'm walking I have him keep circling me so he doesn't get to far ahead....waiting on the day we can ride together!!  Before he gets to old to not spend time with old Mom.   LOL

I'm waiting to get under 300 lbs and then I'm going to go try out some bikes to see if any will work. Most bicycle's are not made for people over 300 lbs....there are some out there, but they are outrageously expensive.

Thats great, and teaching the kids healthy habits too that they hopefully carry with them into their lives.

Love this post!  My son had his 9 year check up and we had his ADHD med's changed and while one curbs appetite, the other one increases...so the dr saw his weigh has crepted up....so he wants him to do 40 mins of exercise, fresh fruits & veggies, no processed food and eat family dinner together.  Which we do...its just with my change in diet...I'm eating what I can eat and some nights we are just fending for ourselves.  I need to find more family friendly meals....but honestly my husband is so picky that he does alot of the cooking before I had surgery.   Trying to cut back on his carbs too.    Hopefully he can maintain until he hits a growth spurt and it will level him out.   He's about 15 lbs too heavy....so would love to be able to ride bikes with him when my own weight gets lower....never ever want hiim to have to deal with this issue!

That's wonderful! I'm lucky that I only have my fiance to think about. I don't know how you all with families juggle "their" food and 'your" food. That's got to be really hard so it's wonderful!
