Tip for those with insomnia

Calculating how many hours of sleep you got (or didn't get, whichever the case may be) last night is not particularly helpful and in fact, is sort of like getting on the scale every day.  It is likely going to leave you frustrated and disappointed.

I have been having such a hard time with sleep here lately. I'm waking up every
30 mins to an hour the past 3 days. I've been taking Equate sleep aid which I
checked with my PCP on Friday at my physical to see if it is ok for me to take
that everyday because if I don't take something I lay awake in bed all day long.
He told me it was ok that if it is doing the trick there was nothing wrong with me
taking them everyday. I don't know whats going on the past few days, but it is really
getting annoying. I turn into a real witch if I don't get enough sleep. Lol

"And the people said 'Amen'..."
A whopping 3 hours here, so a Sunday afternoon nap is DEFINTELY on today's agenda...

Well, I got a total of about four hours, but that was one hour from 2:30 to 3:30, then another three hours from 5:30 to 8:30.  And a nap sounds good to me!

I have had many problems sleeping for quite some time now. Sometimes it is really bad. I guess I have too much on my mind.

I kinda wonder what is it about that 5a-8a time? It just feels like the safest hours to sleep, and I see everyone from my clients with PTSD to my cats who may be up from 3a-5a but sleep solidly from 5a-8a if left to their own devices....

It's starting to get light out then, so it feels safer.

Yep.  My assault started at dusk and once I managed to get home afterward and finally saw the clock it was after 2, so when my PTSD is running high, I often cannot sleep until after 2.  I am used to that. It is the insomnia after 2am that is new for me.

Hubby and I almost always get up at 5 am... and I'm always wishing I could go to sleep.

My insomnia is double-edged. My doc says "Do you have trouble getting to sleep?" ABSOLUTELY

"Or do you have trouble staying asleep" (as if they're mutually exclusive)

I have trouble getting to sleep, and even when I am able to do so, I'm generally up by 2 am.
