Do you still chew your food alot?

As Dee said, we need to continue to chew our food well (although I don't think it is necessary to he's it to the consistency of baby food as many, including me, were instructed to do immediately post op) because we need to take advantage of the chewing and the saliva to help make up for the lack of stomach acids to break down the food in outer to properly digest it.  I don't know whether we get any less nutrition if we dont chew properly, but it makes the intestines work harder and, according to some, can contribute to constipation.

I chew pretty well, especially on meats or I get instant pain. But, I don't count the number of chews and I don't grind it to a paste.

I've been chewing so well that I lost a filling.  It is a good idea to have your dental work done before you start.
