Reminder about calcium
We absorb vitamins in our small intestine, not in our pouch. Drinking water won't swish them out of your intestine.

Kelly can tell more about i t... but D3 is vitally important as well. I started having some very serious, very frightening memory issues / forgetfulness. Too stubborn to follow up, it just got worse and worse. When I had my labs done, my D3 came back less than half of the lower limit ( mine 21 vs 40 low limit). My bariatric nurse started me on 6000iu of D3 a day and 2 weeks later my memory is back. I was so afraid of permanent damage. Paying closer attention to my vitamins now!!
Just FYI, the Linus Pauling Institute says we need our D level to be at least 80, not 40. Also, most post ops I've talked to need to take at least 10,000 IU D3 a day in order to maintain a level of 80. I have talked to two people that did it on just 5000 IU a day, but most need at least 10,000 IU a day, some much more. I have to take 50,000 IU D3 three times a week (averages out to something like 28,000 IU a day) to maintain a level around 100.
