How long did it take you to loose your weight and when did u start to exercise???? I am 5'6 and my highest weight is 285 and current weight is 244. I really don't  do the scale thing... i only know how much i weigh is when i go to the doctors. However my goal weight is 180 but my long term goal is 150-160 IBS.   I havent really started to execerise because i havent found a good gym but i do stay away from all starches.... NO BREAD, PASTA, GRITS, RICE, CORN, EVEN MILK.  All i eat is meats, veggies, protein drink, and beans and fruit......

Life is all about choices and Consequences

I'm 5'6. I'll be two months out tomorrow and I've lost about 45 as well, I don't know how far you are out. I bought a cheap elliptical for home but then I got the flu and bronchitis haha knocked me back a few steps. I think though once we start working out weight will just fall off. Best of luck and I hope people further out from me answer because I'm curious too!

I am 5' 5 1/2" and my starting weight was 235. I had my rny back in early april. Even though my ticker says that I have a few more pounds to lose, my doctors said that I am where I need to be. I have lost a total of 111 pounds and it took 9 months. I currently weigh 124. I think I will probably still lose the last 4 pounds. I exercise almost daily on my stationery recumbent bike and my weight loss has been great. I highly recommend adding even a small amount of exercise to your daily routine. There have been some weeks recently that I have lost 7 pounds in 10 days. It is incredible. Never thought I would be this small this soon. I wear a size 2 or 4 in ladies or a size 14-16 in little girl's pants.

I'm 5'6"-ish. I started at 274, 244 when I got home from the hospital in January 2012, and hit goal (137) just before Thanksgiving. Right now I'm hovering around 140.

I do eat whole grain bread, brown rice, corn, and dairy products (cheese and yogurt, although I'm not a fan of drinking milk.) I don't exercise because of chronic migraines, except for a gentle yoga class once a week and a walk if I'm feeling up to it.

I'm 5 feet 61/2 inches and started at 258. When I had rny on August 29th I was at 253. Now I am 20 weeks out and weigh 175. I don't go to a gym but walk daily on a treadmill about 3.4 miles a day and do my Healthrider for 22 minutes a day. Exercise really helps with weight loss. This past week I amped up my walking and I lost 5 pounds:-)

I am still pre-surg till my thyroid levels normalize but I am also 5'6" and have 130# as a goal weight, however, I am 60 and when I was in high school, I think I weighed around 145#, was big-busted and was not overweight, so we will see.  I think weight v. height also has to do with your build.  I do not think I am ever going to be in a single digit in clothing, ever.  A 10/12 would be fine with me.

When I started all this, I was thinking if I could just be a size 12 I'll be so happy. I didn't imagine it would even be possible to fit single number clothing... Some times our bodies surprise us and are smaller then we imagined lol

Barb - It would not let me PM you.  You say you have chronic migraines.  As a former sufferer, Have you tried foot reflexology?  I know it sounds odd but it got rid of my horrible migraines permanently.  I have helped many people other than myself with this.  There are quite a few books out there and you can do it yourself.  Hope you see this, hope you try it, hope it helps you!

I'm 5'6, the morning of my Rny I was 255. I reached goal of 150 in 7 months. I'm a couple days away from my 1 year coming up on jan 23, and as of this morning, I am 121 lbs. I didn't start working out until around 3 or 4 months post op. I do 20 min cardio on elliptical machine daily, and only 10 min daily on strength.... Congrats on your weight loss!  (I have pics on my profile showing from before, along the way, and now.)
