How many ounces of fluid does your surgeon recommend per day?

How many ounces does your surgeon recommend? Mine says 48 ounces, whi*****ludes protein drinks.

64 ounces is what is usually recommended. I think that's pretty universal. But I could be wrong. Maybe that's what he wants you to drink to start? & then work your way up to 64?

My NUT told me should want's 64 w/ protein drinks BUT would be really happy if I could get in 60 + protein drinks

64. I almost never get 64 in, though. Didn't before surgery, didn't after surgery, and don't now (almost 6 years out), And i have never once been dehydrated since surgery. Not everyone NEEDS that much fluid to stay adequately hydrated, and some need more.
