Embarrassment

So over the last week I've had a few instances of serious embarrassment over my weight. Having to change tables (twice) because I didn't fit at the booth and then they moved us to a high top where I was sure the seat would break. Then tonight I went to a spa I use to go to all the time. They give you an outfit you wear while your there. Their biggest size didn't fit me. I wore my own clothes but boy oh boy. I am ready to be on the losers bench. My surgery is scheduled for June 4th I am 290 and 5'7". Two of my kids graduate june 1st and i am in a musical that runs through may so that helping me keep my mind occupied. I want to cross my legs, tie my shoes, not have swollen legs, along with all the other stuff. I am trying to look toward the surgery and keep myself busy and not make the problem worse (although sometimes I think better eat that now). I'm in therapy and that's great just wanted to share since to the rest of the world I put on my big girl face an act like nothing bothers me

Oh can I relate, been there, done that and believe me the other side is a miracle.  Now print this out and save what you wrote so you never forget and never go back to that embarrassing place of misery.  I started nearly exactly where you are maybe a bit higher bmi, I was 283.5lbs at 5'5 and now nearly 8 yrs later weigh 137lbs and wear size 6.  If I can do this anyone can, I was MO for 20 years.  Never again.

Good Luck.

You will be so surprised how quickly it will change. I was so surprised that just a few weeks after surgery I went to a play and didn't feel like I needed to have a shoe horn to get me in the seat! lol We all have had those situations and I am sorry that you had to deal with those things recently...you will be on the Loser's Bench before you know it!

You are having your surgery almost exactly a year after I had mine.  The journey is amazing and quite the roller coaster! Good Luck with your journey.

Definitely been there.  Very recently in fact.  I started my pre op diet on January 8th.  I am 5' 6" and weighed 279.  As of this morning, I weigh 221.  I have a ways to go yet,   But I can say that I can cross my legs and definitely feel better.  Best of luck to you and I can't wait to see your progress.
