No bowel movement in a month

I need help!! I have not had a bowel movement in a month. I am passing gas, which indicates no obstruction, but I am having a lot of nausea and belly pain.  I am also starting to have a foul taste in my mouth. I read somewhere that if the feces doesn't come out down, it will come up. After a really hard road, and FINALLY starting to feel better, this is the last thing I need.  Can anyone out there offer advice? by the way I am 4.5 months out, and I am down 80 pounds.

How in the world can you go a month without a BM? You would be so sick. I would be in the ER or at the Dr. That is not good at all.

An entire month?!?!?  If that's the case, you need to see a doctor ASAP!  If it is causing nausea and pain, I would actually suggest that you go to the ER.

Not to scare you are nothing, but you need to address this fast and i mean fast you can die from not having BM.Get to your doctor quick or maybe take a laxative.

So, when you say NO BM in a month, do you mean none of ANY kind? At all?

My daughter went 32 days with no bm whatsoever. However she is also a child with hirschsprungs disease. A bowel disease. It is possible I myself have been stopped up a long time but you do need to get medical attention asap. now is enough. try miralax but see a physician as well.  you can litterally bust a gut ya know. I do hope you feel better as I know how miserable this can be. Hugs to you.

When i say no bm I mean nothing, just lots of gas.  I do feel sick but when I tell the nurse or p.a., they say as long as I am passing gas there's nothing to worry about.  I have been taking miralax for the last week and nothing has moved.  You can only take it for a week, so thats a bust.  I guess I will have to try an enema, but this is horrible.  I keep having this problem of severe constipation.  I just started back on solid foods about a week ago, and thought that would help them move.  Thank you all for the kind words and advice. I am embarassed because this is a sensitive topic. Just glad to know people are so concerned and helpful!!

I have taken Miralax almost daily for the past 6 months... but, one week - ten day period when I was so constipated, the doc's office told me to take milk of mag... 1 dose every 1-1.5 hours, up to 5 doses....  I took 4 doses and it got things moving.  Don't think you want to have to do this on a regular basis, but might help.  That being said, I'd call your doctor's office first to make sure this is okay for you to do.  Good luck.  Don't be embarassed... I had to go to a gastro doc because of the constipation and now I also take a new (sigh, another pill!) medication called Linzess, which is helping.

I would be in my car driving to the ER as soon as possible!!! Like yesterday!  I am a nurse and have seen to many people end up with with surgery, colostomy because of this same situation.  If you are taking anything in it has to go somewhere.  Up, down or stretch out your colon.  You can still have an obstruction and pass small amounts of gas, it depends on the dilation of the loops or size of obstruction.  If you keep doing Miralax, MOM and nothing is produced or comes out... it is building up somewhere.  The ER will do a scan / x-ray and see if you are full of stool or if there is an obstruction.  Much better to be safe than sorry... Good Luck
