Interested in a support group, but none near you? Or don't like the group near you?
My telephone support group is looking for new members. We meet on Tuesday night from 7:30 - 8:30 pm EST. We've had a few people drop out so the group is pretty small right now. We like to keep it fairly small so we can get to know each other well and everyone gets a chance to talk (if they want to; people are free to just listen if they prefer), but we could use a few new members.
The group meets via conference call. It's free. The group is not professionally facilitated; instead, members take turns facilitating. The facilitator for the week picks a topic. We've talked about stuff like how to stay motivated, how to deal with head hunger, about body image and self-esteem, about setting goals and managing stress, etc.
If anyone has any questions, or is interested, please PM me.
Please note: I AM NOT A DOCTOR. If you want medical advice, talk to your doctor. Whatever I post, there is probably some surgeon or other health care provider somewhere that disagrees with me. If you want to know what your surgeon thinks, then ask him or her. Check out my blog.
Lyn, I hope to hear from you next week! I'm a regular in the same group and we're always happy to have new people on the call!

I have found that having support is one of the keys to staying on track. I know that support has been important to my success, and the people I know who have regained all dropped out of support groups (or had none available) and stopped coming here. Hope you join us next week.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
I'm interested....I am home most of the time at that time. I'm not real tech savvy so to pm you is out of my expertise sorry. I will check back soon and maybe you can tell me what it is I need to do. I have used many of your suggestions over the last 2 1/2 years and all have worked out wonderfully for me Thanks!!
I PM'd you. See up by the top of the screen where it says "messages?" Click on that, then on the line that says "support group."

I hope you touched base with Kelly to get the info and look forward to having you join our group! Welcome!!!
