I don't see why not. My surgeon doesn't have an upper weight limit.

Check with your insurance.  My coverage, Blue Care Network waives the 6 month medically supervised weight loss program if it is over 50.  Mine was 51.2.  Just waiting for approval at this point, first consult with the surgeon was last week.

Absolutely! Mine was almost 57.  Some surgeons (not all, but some) prefer to do the surgery open rather than laparoscopic on people above a certain BMI, but even then it usually depends on where you carry your weight (it is more likely that they will want to do open if you carry most of the weight in your belly (or if you have certain medical conditions/history)).  Mine was open.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.

I hope it will be RNY, I do carry alot of my weight in my belly but I can look down and see my belly. I carry alot of my weight everytwhere also. I have had no other surgeries so there will be no scare tissue. Maybe if I lose a few pounds it will help, do you have any suggestions what I can eat or drink even protein skakes to try. Thanks

I like Syntrax Nectar. They have fruit flavors you can mix with water, or sweet flavors you can mix with milk. I think it's easier to work your way into it by replacing one meal a day with a shake, then once you get used to it, replace another. I had to have snacks in between, though. I think this helped me transition to my preop liquid diet more easily than others.

Where do I buy Syntrax Nectar and how much does it cost, I don't have alot of money? Thanks

I bought it at Vitamin Shoppe for about $42. That works out to less than $2 a meal, I think, but you have to pay it all at once. If money's tight, I really suggest Walmart. A lot of people are happy with the brands they carry.

Yeah i don't see why not. I'm sure this person has already gotten a message from Mrsbatt telling them how much better the DS is lol she picks out the BMI's and messages you. Or posts when someone isn't sure...

Sorry i added this just seems a common occurance with her lol
