Sooo sick should i eat something?
I had 2 protein bars today 180 cals each so that is 380 cals then 1 egg with mozz cheese and a RTD protein shake 220 cals and 32g protein. I went to the fireworks with my kids today and was fine all though it was a bit humid out. Started walking a good 20 minutes pretty fast haven't really walked like this in well over a month because of my herniated disk in my back THANK YOU STEROID SHOT!! Came into my car and chocked down a protein bar quite literally. Came home took a shower and my body feels overall weak and tired and then came the nausea. I had to take a zofran and don't know if i should just not eat anything else or i should try to eat something... I should be around 700ish calories so i think i am okay but idk if i ate too fast, the heat + walking, or blood sugar crash or something?????? Anyone ever experience this?
You ate three protein bars in one day?? I guess I am concerned that, even if it was only two protein bars rather than three, that means that for three of your four meals (or four out of five meals) you ate chemical laden protein supplements instead of real food. Even early out that is a lot.
If you are nauseous, I personally wouldn't eat anything, but you might try something soothing like hot tea.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.

Today was a busy day and even those 2 protein bars i had a hard time getting down. I didn't feel like eating anything else quite honestly but i had the egg.. and a RTD protein shake to add the extra protein. I usually do eat 1-2 of these a day and my body is fine with them.. i don't mind supplementing once in a while it's not something i do every day though. All foods these days have chemicals so it is what it is. Different strokes for different folks i guess.

A middle aged over the hump and over what "I'm suppose to do" woman, with the wild spirit and a nasty case of depression and anxiety!
Relying on protein shakes and bars at all is asking for trouble down the road. Saying that you were rushed, etc., etc. is no excuse when it is really not planning ahead. You need to pack a bottle of water every time you go out the door and depending on how long you will be gone, something to eat. When you agree to this surgery you change the way you think and live.

I tend to agree with the saying I was rushed is no excuse. I have not had my surgery yet (July 23rd), but through my 6 month supervised diet, I learned that all my bad eating habits came from me not being prepared. I tried to use that same excuse of "I was really busy and did not have time to cook so we stopped at Marcos" or whatever other fast food place it was. Honestly, preperation is key! You need to think of something other than premade bars and such to have on those days when life happens and there just seems to be no time. JMO, something I learned about myself and I am sure I am not the only one out there who has done the same thing.
My favorite quote...."Failure to plan is planning to fail"
I try to grab a cheese stick and fruit as opposed to a protein bar if I'll be out and about. It goes down much better. If I had 3 protein bars in one day, I know I'd feel awful. I usually don't feel so great after one.
Well i did bring almonds and a cheese stick BUT the cheese stick started going bad and i did eat a couple of almonds. I was drinking a protein shake too which left me full so it was hard to eat. I try to eat real food most of the time and i do.. but i keep them around if i want one or sometimes if i am on the run. I am stocked up on cheese sticks, cottage cheese, greek yogurt everything i need... but sometimes i do prefer the protein bar i am not going to lie.
I had my surgery in February so we're somewhat close in duration and I'm wondering if the protein bars spiked your system? I know for me I eat about the same amount of calories, 700-800 a day but can only eat half of a protein bar without feeling racy, nauseous, or get a headache (I eat premier protein bars). With the heat the way it has been I've also been sensitive to meals so I've been eating smaller meals, just more often. One of the things that I seem to be okay with in the heat is garbanzo beans. Strange I know. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon.
