Scrambled Eggs

I'm almost 4 weeks post op . I was so scared to try scrambled eggs because of hearing horror stories . Well, I  was so sick of yogurt, refried beans and soup  that I gave in .   They were delicious.   And no dumping . It satisfied me  much faster than yogurt.   Next, a hard boiled egg .

Anyone know how much protein is in an egg ? Guess I could google it.   I just used pam spray and water with a bit of salt/pepper.

Hope you all have a wonderful day !

I just started eating scrambled eggs too. Love them. Protein is 6-8 grams depending how large the egg. The carton has the info on it too. This morning I added 1 link of turkey sausage with the egg. S good!

I have found I tolerate them best if poached. My husband loves them!

As far as not being sure how much protein in an egg, if you don't already, I suggest you join My Fitness Pal to log your foods. I log every bite I take on there. It does an AMAZING job keeping track of protein/calories/fat intake. It has a library of most foods already, so you just punch it in, press add and it calculated it for you. And it's free :)

I ate scrambled eggs on Day Three while still in the hospital (open RNY) and had boiled and poached eggs that first week as well.  Never had a problem... other than getting completely sick of eggs after a few weeks.  Lots of people have no trouble with them.  I did find that boiled eggs somehow felt (still feel, actually) much more filling than scrambled eggs and ti was a while before I could eat a whole boiled egg.  Theoretically, once you chew them, it shouldn't matter, but maybe I don't chew them as well or something.

they gave us hard boiled at our first week appointment after surgery .  I had a tiny bite of the egg white.  Didn't have much. Think I'll boil some tonight.

I love eggs, been having them since about 3 weeks out. I experiment with them all the time and now I put things like mushrooms and mild salsa, fat free sour cream, etc. on them. I haven't done hard boiled yet but now I'm thinking that will be tomorrow! Most are about 6.5g protein, I always add 1/4 cup of fat free cheese to one egg and make an omelet that way so I get about 15g protein for my breakfast.

How far out are you ?  Great idea !  I have a hard time getting my protein in , if not doing protein shakes.
