I can't be sick now!

I came down with a cold yesterday and my surgery is in 2.5 weeks. I sure hope this goes away quickly! Do you think they would postpone my surgery if I'm still sick?

I got sick about 2 weeks pre-op. Go to the doctors to make sure its not something that requires meds. IE sinus Infection. And take the meds, drink a lot of water, you can take Vitamin C, Zinc to help get over it quicker. But for my doctor as long as I didnt have a fever or anything contagious he would still do the surgery. Since a lot of people get allergy stuff this time of year.

Colds usually don't lost 2.5 weeks, so you should be fine by then.  If you are still sick, whether or not they will still operate depends on how sick you are.  If you don't have a fever and are breathing OK, they will usually go ahead.

I had a fever last night but it seems to be gone... for now. I guess I'm overreacting. I just don't want anything to get in the way of surgery. I have all my pre op appts this week so I guess they'll let me know but I'll go to the doc if it lasts past this week.
