Opinions on nectar protein powder!
Jen
Hello Jen!
You can google Syntrax Nectar Protein Drinks and find many places that sell them. Even amazon.com sells some of the flavors... this site http://www.nashuanutrition.com/store/protein-powders/syntrax-nectar-36-servings.html allows you to order sample sizes in different flavors and brands, which is nice if you are trying to find one you like :)
I have been around for years with protein powders and ready to drink protein RTD as I need them for my protein source once a day. I love most of the Nectar products. Contact Syntrax on the website or Amazon to get a good deal. I choose Jay Robb individual packages for traveling as I love the convenience. I just prepare one in the mornings before I shower. I use it to take my vitamins and am set for the day. I travel with a group and need to be up and ready to go by nine with breakfast. It is nice to have the option of a Jay Robb Tropical Dreamsicle as my drink source first thing in the morning.
I love the flavors that can be considered summer drinks. I chose Roadside Lemonade and Lemon Tea often for work days. I also loved that the guys would laugh when they said now Linda what do you have in your bottle today. I would say Fuzzy Navel.
I do not tolerate sweet nor milk so I use 24 ounces or more of water with the scoop of protein powder. I love that I get the flavor and the water that I need.
I have used protein powders and raw veggies as an option with water and ice so that I get some fiber and nutrients not found in the packages. It helps because I cannot eat that much at once.
I would recommend trying just a little fruit, spinach and or kale cukes and celery to enhance your drinks.
I never liked those Isopure RTD and did try them more than just the first few months.
Blah.
At first because I was so prone to getting indigestion prior to surgery I stayed away from the chocolate protein powders now I tolerate most of them.
I am five years out and have a cabinet full of protein sources from Chike to Syntrax to my favorite Jay Robb!
Check and make sure you are getting a high quality protein. I had RNY surgery so I need 100% Whey Isolate. At times, I have chosen a blend of proteins knowing that some will not be processed well. It is like treat.
I like mixing the fuzzy navel or the twisted cherry with iced tea. I find it cuts the "protein" taste down. I got a variety pack from BJs Bariatrics. I liked that I could change out the flavors I knew I wouldn't like (strawberry) and get doubles of the ones I really thought I liked. I would definitely start there to figure out what you do and don't like. They're definitely a good break from the vanilla/chocolate protein drinks.
