I would get a new job. The stress is not worth it.

Please consult your surgeon & nutritionist for how to do it their way.  Biggest regret? Not doing this 10 years ago! Every day is better than the day before...and it was a pretty great day!

There are days that I fantasize about it...but it requires going back to school.

I am tired of school and debt.

In my fantasy career, I would cut gems for a living. Just me, and all these beautiful baubles.

And I would call them "My Precious" in my very best smeegle voice!

Well aren't we special?  Seriously your tone in your post is belittling and "I'm better than" because you have a doctorate and this lowly employee "ONLY" has an associate degree. WTF. His actions have ZERO to do with his education. Basically what you just did is insult many on these boards, happy now?

Ok so he screwed up I get the frustration and it did/does need to be corrected. Unfortunately, there are people that do not have the work ethics others do. I work with a few myself.

I hope it gets corrected soon.

Edit:  I should have read all the comments first. I see where Heather asked a question and you answered. Your comment about his degree was you being frustrated not that you thought less of him because of his degree.

HOW do you get them motivated? Especially if their portion of the job  impacts your ability to do your portion.

ugh.

I wish there was a secret to share, there isn't that I'm aware of unless you are in a supervisor/managerial position to discuss your concerns with him then you can't personal motivate him.  The managers (yours and his) may be able to resolve the issue.

We have a couple of unmotivated folks here, yes it gets frustrating but their manager seems to let it continue so I have to deal with it.
