I am well on my way.... I have lost a total of 40 pounds (18pds pre-surgery - 22pds after)!!! I am like waiting for a stall ... (This is week 3)... But I am doing well.

I am so encouraged by each of you and I just wanted to spread some Good News!

Thanks again Everyone!!! I am soo excited about what the future holds.!

One Question: I am sooooo confused about the vitamin guideline doc set... I hear that the Bariatric Advantage vitamins aren't enough? What are you taking???

Thank You ALL! Have a Great Week!

You don't have to buy expensive vitamins, just make sure you get the recommended amount daily and space them properly (calcium should be taken in 3 doses 2 hours before or after other vitamins) and make sure you get the right iron (carbonyl) and calcium (citrate).

I'm almost 6 years out and my blood work is always good.  I get most of my vitamins at Sam's Club or on Amazon. This is what I take:

early morning: 500 mg calcium

late morning: 1 multi, 1 B complex, 1 C, 1 iron, I dry D3

mid morning: 500 mg calcium

late afternoon: 500 mg calcium

bedtime: 1 multi

once a week: B12 sublingual 5,000mcg

Basically you need to take most multivitamins twice a day as you need 200% of RDA as we don't absorb it all. That being said I was told to check for it having Thiamine, (Copper, and K1 too if possible) -  as they don't all have those. I have been doing chewable multivitamin, calcium bites, B-12 sublingual, chewable probiotic, and a hair, skin and nail vitamin that has Biotin and other things in it. I do liquid Vitamin D 10 drops = 10,000mg. I put it in my smoothie. I just bought a bottle of calcium Citrate at trader Joes, not chewable going to try it. It is 1000mg calcium and 90 tabs for $4.99. I thought that was a good price. I have been using Calcet creamy Bites for Calcium, and Bariatric Complete -  it is chewable and designed for bariatric patiennts and you only have to take once per day. I get my iron from the Multi. The creamy bites and Multi are from Amazon and the Liquid Vitamin D and the Chewable probiotics are from Vitamin Shoppe. B-12 from Trader Joes.

AM: Multi, probiotic, B-12 (1,000mg M-W-F), Vitamin D.

During the day - One calcium bite

PM: Second calcium Bite. (If you need a third I would do dinner and bedtime)
