Severe stomach pain and some dry heaves

i had lunch at Panda Express, and started to get a tummy ache while eating so stopped. Nothing was stuck, but tummy pains have been severe for 6 hours now. Also am having a couple of episodes of dry heaving. Wondering if I could try a fleet enema or if I should go to ER. Have had similar pains once or twice before, but they've gone away. Any advice is appreciated. Surgeon took my gallbladder during RNY.

Severe abdominal pain is NOT normal.  Does the pain come in waves like labor pains?  Have you been able to pass any gas or have a bowel movement?  You could be severely constipated or you could have a bowel obstruction.   You've had severe pain for 6 hours!!!  Get yourself to the ER and get it checked out.

Panda Express is fast food: lots of hidden sugars and oils from the wok preparations. Rice and or noodles? Those carbs will expand in your pouch and make you feel really bad for hours and even days. DUMPING syndrome. Been there... skipped next time.

dumping doesn't usually last for six hours

Worst case scenario = dumping and food poisoning... definitely get it checked out.

Based on the info I got from my doctor dumping can last 15 minutes to several hours. So it could be dumping. I would think though that eating at Panda Express wouldn't be the best food option.

Sorry that I am just now seeing this (hopefully, the issue has resolved!), but just wanted to say that because of the time it takes for food to move through your digestive system, an enema won't help with something you ate just 6 hours previously. At that point (6-8 hours), the food is just starting to move from the small intestine to the large intestine.

I sure hope you feel better now.  You didn't say exactly what you ate, but almost everything at Panda Express has much more fat than you would expect (and more than if you get the same dish at a traditional Chinese Restaurant).  Most entrees have about half of their calories from fat, so it is possible that your body was just reacting to the fat content, especially since you no longer have your gallbladder.

Recovering from surgery. Had an internal hernia and hole in intestine where bowel was stuck. 4.5 hr emergency surgery and will likely be in hospital for 5-7 days. This taught me never to wait. Surgeon said my bowel and intestine are very sick and too much more time could have been much worse. Thanks for all the feedback.
