Need help, post op RNY day 9 started full liquids/purees yesterday, did fine with cream soup, protein shake yesterday, today had something weird--tomato soup with ricotta cheese, parmesan cheese in blender then heated, it was delicious however, several hours later had large BM with gas pains (2nd one since surgery) then an hour after that explosive diarrhea, now I feel better (not sure if I was just backed up since surgery, been taking miralax, senna and docusate 2x daily). Since it was several hours later after the soup is it possible I dumped???? Or just finally reliving myself since surgery.

This is not dumping.  Dumping is a multitude of symptoms caused by undigested sugar hitting your intestines.  You will feel really really I'll - sweating, clammy, heart racing and all round "kill me now"

Believe me, if you dump you will not be asking if you did!

"Kill me now" is a perfect description for dumping.

If you're in the fetal position on the bathroom floor....you may be dumping.

Not dumping. There wasn't anything you ate to cause dumping. I wouldn't worry about it unless it keeps happening.

Sounds like a lactose issue. I had and still get them when there is too much dairy in my meal.

Yikes! Maybe your body was not expecting such a change? Hope it does not happen again.

That sounds like lactose intolerance.

I'm thinking two things, all the laxatives caught up with me or lactose issue

Tomato soup will cause any early postop to blow out the bottom of the toilet. It also has sugar in it. That's why it's so good. Stick with protein forward foods. Scrambled eggs, egg drop soup, cheeses...most likely you just cleared out from surgery finally but stay away from tomato soup!
