18 months out now and I have been taking 2- 50,000 capsules a week for a least 6 months now. My dietition looked at my labs and said it was to high that I have to cut back to 1 capsule a week. I heard on here that thats not safe  but dietition says it is. Not sure what to do , any ideas ?

I take a lower dose of D3 daily now, but I was told that if I switch to the 50,000 IU ones, I should only take it once a week.

What dose you take daily and what brand do you get ?

I take these ones. I know we don't absorb the gelcaps very well, but I had these since before surgery, and my D level is actually normal now (it was always low pre-op).

Where do you get them , how much do you take daily?

I'm not sure who told you that it wouldn't be "safe" to take a lower dose of Vit D (or why), but if your Vit D level is really too high, then you absolutely should take less. (As Grim asked, what what your level? Many docs will tell you it is too high when it isn't too high for us, especially since ur levels can drop much more quickly than other people's.)

Before I started using the patch, I was taking the 50,000 twice a week and then taking a third one every other week (three per week was too much and 2 per week was too little), so depending on how much you need to adjust your dose, something like that might be an option.

In addition to your current level, what were the results of your last few labs, especially since you were taking this much D3? Have they been climbing steadily? Staying the same? Dropping?
