Omgo****he day I thought would never get here is right around the corner. YIKES! I am nervous!

I'm not so worried about the actual surgery as I have trust in my surgeon and I know this is the right thing for me.

Super exciting news! The actual surgery won't even be a blip on your radar as all you'll remember is going to the OR and then waking up after.

Wishing you all the best for a speedy recovery! Keep us updated.

It is normal to be nervous. Or whatever normal is. Life does change for the better. It can be hard sometimes but it is up to us to live life and enjoy.

Hang in there. I found that the last few days before surgery I was more nervous. Breathe deeply and stay busy.

I'm feeling the same way. My surgery is scheduled for the same day as yours. I am also very nervous mainly wondering if I have made the right decision. I know in my heart that I have and I just have to take deep breaths and remind myself why I'm doing this. Best of luck to you. I will pray for a speedy recover for you.

That's very nice of you. Thanks! I'll pray for you as well.

Tomorrow is the first day of the rest of our lives...I'm ready to live it!

I plan to take a pic of the "old" me tomorrow morning. I will never be in that place again...the place where my legs, hips, knees and feet hurt constantly, the place where I stand on the sideline and watch my life go by rather than being an active and enthusiastic participant. Here's to us...Cheers! (with a 16oz bottle of water) Let me know how you're doing.

I'm hopping in here to assure you both that nerves are normal. I kept myself busy in the days before to keep my mind off the worries. The unknown was scary but the path I was on was even scarier. I was 52 and had uncontrolled high blood pressure on three pills, high cholesterol and triglycerides and diabetes. I was out of breath going down my basement steps and would go to flea markets with my family and sit on a bench. I told them I liked to people watch, but in reality I couldn't keep up and didn't want to slow my hubby and sons down. When we went out to dinner I'd always ask for a table because I wouldn't be sure that I'd fit on the booth. Y clothes were dark colors and size 28s. I weighed 273 pounds and most days I was in physical pain. For the last 4 years and 3 months I've weighed between 117 and 122 and wear a size 0 or 1. I'm so glad that I didn't let my mind scare me out of surgery. Today my blood sugar, cholesterol and triglycerides are all normal on no meds and my blood pressure is perfect on one low dose pill. My family can't keep up with me now and I walk at least 5 miles every day with no pain. I love my new healthy life and you will too. Before and after pics to follow.
