Hello my friends! Late greetings from me on this somber and beautiful All Saints Day!
I'm still hovering just over 145#. Doesn't matter: I will outlast this slowpoke scale! My goal is to be under 142, or under 140...it's somewhat of a moving target.
Yesterday I was feeling peckish, but mostly due to anxiety about something. I managed to keep my calories under 650, though, and stayed within protein and carbohydrate bounds.
I didn't have any trick-or-treaters. I missed them! But I wasn't surprised, as there aren't a lot of kids in my immediate neighborhood.
I've been feeling the people I have loved who have passed on very, very strongly over the past few days. There really is something to the notion that they are closer at this time of year, I think. I am going to light a candle for them, especially for my parents and my other relatives in the spirit world, after posting this to the group.
It is very dark here today - strong grey cloud layer, and rain. Beautiful, but somber. November is always a somber month, until Thanksgiving brings us all into the dazzling holiday mode!
QOTD: So many to choose from its impossible to narrow down. There are many more, but here are a few, in no particular order:
The truly amazing Carolina Chocolate Drops:

Nils Lofgren. Here he is singing his beautiful song Valentine, with Bruce Springsteen chiming in, and guess who playing drums?!:

John Gorka. This fantastic singer/songwriter/balladeer is from NJ. An amazingly nice guy:

And from The Strangelings, a very Happy Halloween, All Saints Day, and All Souls Day to all of my RnY friends:

How wonderful that you feel your loved ones! I really enjoy going to the Mission and lighting candles for my loves, but I never thought to do this at home! Enjoys your visits!!
Congrats on the scale and being SO close to goal!!

I light candles at church too, but like putting out some fresh water, fresh flowers, and a candle for them at home as well. I want them to have light and peace, and to know that they are loved and missed. For New Year, I pour them champagne! I know most would probably think it's just my fertile imagination, but honestly, my sense is that is appreciated. Either way, it's what I do.
Thank you Amy! I am happy to be close, weightwise, but I haven't made much progress at all for the past few weeks despite a solid adherence to my plan. At this point I am thinking that I am going to keep dieting until New Year's Day, and then will gently and very gradually start adding in more calories and more of a variety of vegetables and some fruit. I'd really like to go 10 pounds under my goal though, so I may take longer than that to enter maintenance. We'll see!
