Hello Gang! I am up early after a terrible night of sleep. I had a few legit panic attacks in the middle of the night :( Today marks 2 weeks since I have left my job and I guess I am feeling a little weird about it. I mean, I do not miss my job (AT ALL) but I feel weird without the structure and adrenaline, so I think I just created my own adrenaline last night. I panicked multiple times that I was missing deadlines and doing everything wrong in my classes. TBH I am not even sure if it's true. I am looking forward to getting some grades so I know how I am doing!?

I also realized that I need to create some more structure in my day so that I have starts and stops. I feel like I am just flitting around the house from one think to another and instead of feeling accomplished I feel like I have 10000 unfinished projects.

Edited to say that after 2 cups of espresso and logging on to read other people's discussion posts... I'm good again :) My paper was definitely better researched than many others. Phew! I also spent some time reviewing the syllabi and reassured myself that I did not miss anything ***breathing again*** Now how to channel this extra stress into exercise?

QOTD: Yesterday's thread's talk about Steven King had me wondering... what author(s) have you read every thing from? I love finding a great book, then reading everything that author has written! This is not a complete list, I am sure, but here are a few recent favorites: Kazuo Ishiguro, Celeste Ng, Ann Patchett, Colson Whitehead.

B: Fit Frappe hot coffee & egg whites with ham and feta

L: (more!) leftover fish from Monday night's dinner (I love that one meal out can last 3 - 5 meals!)

D: Costco chicken skewers

Exercise: Its still raining... so a treadmill walk I guess.

Good morning QJB and menuers,

Okay, that meme made me laugh. And my mother would agree with the kid.

I'm sorry you had a bad night's sleep. I have similar issues when work stress is doing its thing or there's an important day and I'm worried about oversleeping. I hope it fades through the day. Given the amount of cookies you decorate, it seems like that, on top of school, is a whole lot of structure. A few more weeks and no doubt you'll have it all ironed out.

I was told in no uncertain terms yesterday that I'm now to be in the office three days a week. Not exactly keen on this...but I'll be there. Which is why I was up at 3am today trying to figure out what this schedule could look like. I've always been an early bird, so...work in progress. Eight or so meetings today, which means trying to find places around the office that aren't interrupting others. Two of these are first time intros and one is a project kick off. I appreciate home days for days like today since my customers are mostly external and we work in the highly popular open office concept. Goodie. :)

Anyway. I've packed my lunch. I've exercised. Doing the protein shake, then clean up thing. Plus dog time before heading out.

QOTD - none. I haven't found an author I've enjoyed every publication from...though there are some who have only published one book. So maybe them. I am a Stephen King fan and have read most of his older stuff and almost none of his newer stuff. Free time to read is scarce these days. Thanks everyone for the recommendations yesterday!

Menu

Morning pre game Planted protein shake plus fiber

Nonfat Greek yogurt and roasted seaweed

Spinach/turkey bake slice

Albacore tuna with more yogurt mixed in and Mrs Dash Chipotle seasoning (sorry garlic salt!)

Maybe a roll up when I get home if I feel hungry. Probably not.

Hope you all have a wonderful day!

That's a bummer that you have to be in the office again! I hope that I will be able to find something remote when it's time to go back to work. I have commuted enough hours already in this life time, tyvm!

I hear the tech industry is great for remote work if you're savvy! With you...I'd do full remote if there were options. Maybe in a couple of years we'll have more open-minded industries!

Good morning everyone.

Not a lot planned for today. I had another rough night with yet another dream of dying...funky stuff.

I got a initial denial letter for Ozempic. Get this...they said it was because I didn't have an A1c test in the last 180 days. Which is WRONG! I had one on July 27th. The doctors office is appealing it but I sent them a message with the information on the last blood tests. Absolutely asinine.

QOTD: the closest I come to is Tolkien. It's been a long time though...I was a young teenager. It's hard for me to sit to read and concentrate on much of anything right now.

B: JUST egg cup & coffee

L: not 100% sure

D: tilapia with whisps crumbles and carrots

S: pistachios, beef stick & ???

Melody, I have been getting the run around with my Ozempic prescription as well. I think that there is a shortage and for whatever reason, pharmacies are trying to find reasons to reject people.

Funny I just heard about the Ozempic shortage for the first time last night. They say it is because of "increased demand". It had me wondering if its covid-lifestyle related or not.
