There are some websites where people post pictures of themselves at different heights and weights. One is mybodygallery, but there are others. It is so interesting how two people of same height and weight can look so different.

I think your lifetime goal may be around 170. It is normal to look too small during the first two years after RNY.

By the third year, the malabsorption from the surgery is pretty well gone and bounce-back regain of 20 pounds is very common.

At 148, you very likely will not lose more unless you really cut calories.

Women's sizes are all over the place and I have clothes from size 4 to size Large, depending on the brand and style. I just try clothes on and wear the size that I feel comfortable in. Nobody sees the labels anyway and I often cut them out off.

By six months the pouch is at close to its final size and can hold from eight to twelve ounces of food. The malabsorption is also going away.

To continue losing weight you now need to eat about 730 calories less than you did before losing 73 pounds. If that is impossible to do, then you will need to increase exercise to burn off calories.

The secret of weight loss is that the less you weigh, the less you can eat.

Following that twelve month diet properly will give you much of the same benefits as having surgery. Before surgery, I was on a diet and exercise program, not supervised, that resulted in twelve pounds of loss.

That was one thing that really convinced me that I needed surgery.

When I did a three month program, I had gained back the twelve pounds. I also lost a pound a month with the physician supervised plan. A year sounds like a long time now, but it is nothing compared with the lifetime of changes that you need to make.

My physician supervised plan was to eat no white carbs, no caffeine, and exercise at least 20 minutes daily. By the time I had surgery, I was used to those rules and did not have to go through carb or caffeine withdrawal.

My advise is to start the required plan now.

I think the profiles with two and three tickers were the result of a software glitch with one of the upgrades.

Topic: RE: TEN YEARS OUT

I will be ten years in October. I lost my husband to cancer in 2009, after 40 years pf marriage. I am 69 years old.

You may not be depressed, but you are not finding joy in life. I wake up every morning thankful for a new day. I make plans for the future. At a healthy 66 years old, it is not unreasonable for you to look forward to 30 or more years of life.

Yogurt, chunky soup and Lean Cuisine are incredibly boring. And believe me, I have gone that route. I force myself to go out and make friends. I am active in political action groups. I go to events at the senior citizens center. I go to the water aerobics classes at the fitness club that are for arthritis patients. I keep up with family and friends.

I treat my arthritis with Bio-freeze, ice, heat and rest. The more I move, the better it feels.

Most nights, I cook a great meal and invite others to eat at my house. I am fine with eating the parts that are OK for me. I bake brownies, cookies, pies and cakes and give them away.

Every morning I make a plan for the day. This week, I cut the grass, power-washed and completely re-organized the garage, dug a flowerbed, and spent an afternoon shopping at the mall. I have calling hours tonight, a funeral tomorrow, a family dinner on Friday and a wedding to attend on Saturday.

My secret of happiness is believing that the best is yet to come and knowing that I will have the strength to deal with whatever does happen in the future.

I would suggest doing a side-by-side evaluation using the nutrition labels from Unjury O'Purity vitamins and the Tespo bariatric vitamins.

You will be taking supplements for life, so if this is something you can afford and enjoy trying, why not?

You can always go back to pills if you are not happy with the Tespo. It looks like something I would like, but I do not want to make the financial commitment.

I was five years out before I became anemic and I did not donate blood. Being anemic is miserable for me. It is like having a very bad flu and no energy all day long.

I would advise never donating again.

During weight loss mode stay under 800 calories and under 30 carbs per day. Drink protein shakes until you are healed enough to get your protein from food.

All of the experimental repair procedures result in losing about 20 pounds. That is because the surgeon will put you on a liquid diet before and after surgery and that will cause some weight loss.

Cost of the endostitch, ROSE procedure, stomaphyx, or other procedures where they insert stitches or staples run about $10,000 and are not covered by insurance.

You are eating something that is running through your system too fast. For me that would happen if I ate a fresh tomato. Eliminate foods one at a time and see what is doing it.

I would say that I am sorry but the hard way just did not work for me, and I am taking the easy way out.

The others have the option of using insurance to get surgery too.

If it makes you feel any better, your boss will be delighted in a few years if you have regain.

Mine happened long before RNY. It is a simple operation to fix it. I was in the hospital overnight, but it could have been done outpatient.

Don't worry about eating. You do need to stress staying hydrated. Your body will have enough fat stores to keep you from starving. Just keep sipping your water.

I did water and protein shakes for the first four months. Then progressed to vegetable soup and finally to meat and salad by the end of the fourth month.

Every day will get better and six months from now all of your favorite foods will be appealing again.

I still don't like food much, but the malabsorption went away in year three and the ability to gain weight came back. Staying at goal is a struggle now.

I was shopping for swimsuits today and yearning for that year when size zero was too big.

I have had regain and lost it several times since I had surgery in 2007. I am content with losing a pound a week.

Sometimes it is more and that is a bonus. But I know that I no longer have the gift of malabsorption. What I put in is going to be absorbed.

You are on the right path. My advise is to weigh daily and always know where you are. It is easy to get off track if you don't.

Losing a job is a big blow to your life. Interviews are hard and you have to remember that you will get an offer. I hope it is soon. Keep up with what you are doing and you won't be disappointed.

Pay someone to help you with your son for four to six weeks and keep him at home.

You will be able to drive and do anything except lifting after a few days.
