I am just past my 6 month mark. I am not having any hunger pains, but I also have zero interest in food. The only thing I really want is my protein hot cocoa at night. It's not like I am having cravings for food that isnt on my program, I just dont want food. I could care less.
Has anyone ever experienced this and how did you get past it? I feel like I am relying to heavily on shakes(2 a day) to make my protein count but it is really the only thing I can stand right now. Do I ride it out and it will change?
I am really looking for some honest feedback on this. My husband is getting concerned because what little I was eating post op has only decreaed that much more.
Thanks for any insights...newbies or vets!

Does anyone know if Click Mocha is decaf? I am afraid the answer is no.

Let me just start by saying, other than being SO, I had no comorbities before surgery. Now, I feel like I am falling apart. What gives?
I cant sleep at night because my knees haven't met before and now that they have they dont get along. SO MUCH PAIN. I try a pillow between them but it doesnt stay.
Since surgery I have spent 14(!!!!) weeks in a boot because of nerve problems in my feet. I also have a nerve in my back left shoulder that random flares up and it is like fire for 5 minutes at a time...take my breath away pain!
Do these kind of things go away or do I need to learn to live with them? I am well over half way to goal and working my program...but DANG, the pain.

So I had my 6 month post op today. I have lost 95 pounds. Pretty happy about that. When I told my doctor my goal(another 90) he told me that wouldnt happen and I would be lucky to lose another 40.
My goal is still *overweight* for my height so I thought it was attainable. Him saying this totally crushed me. I was wondering what experience others had with this and what I should do with that information.
Other than be mad, which I am rightn ow

I know I have read that weightloss slows at a certain point. But when is that in the process? I am 5 months and 2 days out and have lost 93 pounds so I am HAPPPPPY but was curious when the slow down starts to occur. I dont want to have it slow down and *think* it was time but then later realize I was doing something wrong....
Wanna make sure I maximize my tool

thank you!!! I will be looking at flights this weekend! We are totally HP geeks!

is there a size/weight SOMETHING that will tell me when I will fit into rides? I might even now, my eyes are DEFINITELY seeing me bigger than my stomach.
That being said, I dont want to chance it because it is a flight and a great deal of costs. Wanting to hit harry potter with my daughter for her 17th....

a half of a container of fage is 3.5 ounces and 3.5 carbs. It is super thick and keeps me full for a long time. the other kinds I can eat the whole container but Fage I cant so maybe try it.
My doctor has told me to eat whatever I can tolerate. I dont know if that is his policy or him taking pity on me because I am not tolerating much. I eat 1/3 of a protein bar less than once a week so the sugar alcohols dont affect me. I think my carbs on that would be like 15 for the yogurt and protein bar with 20 proteins total.
I never eat over 30 carbs unless I have wendys chili then I might go to 35. But I havent been eating that very often.
when you count your carbs does your doctor have you subtract out the fiber or do you count it all? I say that because my shake has 4 carbs and 2 fibers so for some people that is only 2. I count the overall because I am lazy.
Typically I eat/drink 1 shake with iced decaf coffee, a yogurt, and another small meal or 2 daily and that is it. So today Ihad a strawberry shake, I am having a yogurt w/protein bar in it, 4 grilled chicken nuggets from chic fil a. That puts me at 62 and when I get home I will have something else, I have a bunch of stuff in the fridge preportioned and marked with the protein count.

I like an 80 cal Greek yogurt and dice up 1/3 of a protein bar in it. I also like 1/2 f a plain fage with 1/2 scoop of quest protein powder and 1 packet of.splenda mixed in.
I will probes drink a price drink intheorninh for.life, but I love them

Can you identify what those ranch things are you love? I feel like I must have them in my life.

I am 4 months out yesterday and only the past 2 weeks have I started dense proteins. Even then I am not always tolerating them. Listen to your body, make sure you get your protein in,and plow forward!

Thanks for the information! This was very helpful. I have been taking my calcium all at once because no one said otherwise. I am going with 2 centrum and 3 calcium in the right time. I have labs in 9 weeks so I will see how I fare.

Do you also take iron with that? How much? And an extra calcium? My nutritionist is not terribly helpful and I want to make sure I am taking the correct amounts.

how about keeping a toothbrush and toothpaste at your desk for these instances. A good brushing will put you off of cheetos

I had some pretty severe complications too and it is just at 15 weeks that I am starting to tolerate dense proteins. Love Eggfaces ricotta bake. Also, I take a carton of greek yogurt(Fage has the highest protein count) and put a scoop of protein mix in it and stir it like crazy. I found it on pinterest and they called it protein"pudding". It is decent. Also, hormel beanless turkey chili has 23g per cup and reduced fat cheese has 8g per 1/3 cup so that makes a great meal(I eat 1/2 c of chili with cheese) I also found a premade meat bolognase in the deli department that has 11g per 1/2 cup. Add the cheese to it and you are at 18 grams
I can eat Cracker Barrel Chicken Tenders and Grilled chicken nuggets from Chic Fil A. Not sure why but I have been trying to recreate them at home with not much luck.
You really need to eat a protein forward diet. Even if it is boring it is better to work your tool as best you can. When I dont feel like eating I just go on auto pilot...shake, yogurt, shake. Makes my protein count but I dont do it often

I love falafel balls with a yogurt dressing on them, there are Morningstar breakfast sausages that have 9 proteins for 2 small links. If you eat eggs in things I can't say enough awesome about Eggfaces ricotta back

check out eggface's blog. I LIVED on the ricotta bake when I was in that stage....so so good. I still make it.

I saw the barber chicken when you tAlked about it on another thread...was so sad it isn't carried anywhere near me.

I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE a tall iced coffee with sugar free syrup. I have them put it in a venti cup and I put my premiere protein shake in it...Did I say I love it?

I am really having troubles at work. People seem to think my body is their property...to the point somebody poked my belly like I was the Pillsbury Dough Girl!!!! I think they are intending it as a compliment but I would love any input on how to deal with it. I have already gotten "you are wasting away" UHHHHHHHH, I am still OBESE.
I am polite to a fault and dont really know how to deal with it. I am not open about my surgery so addressing that isnt something I am going to talk about. I also HATE to be touched. People(women) have touched my butt, my wasit and my belly and thy also fel free to comment on my smaller breast size....UGH!

Is that the same outfit in you 0 & 3 month pics? Cuz WOW if it is

I am 11 weeks post op and could definitely not hit my protein without my shake. Every day I drink 1 shake and eat one 000 greek yogurt and I am guaranteed 45 proteins right there. I am not hitting my water at all but the doctor says to just keep plugging away. I do count my shake mixed with coffee as liquid.... Still not making it.

I am 11 weeks post op
Isit possible to eat too many slider foods? My calorie count isn't high, all my numbers are in line. But daily I eat yogury, a shake and beanless chili or refried beans w/ cheese.
my pouch is very sensitive and is dense protein averse. I want to make sure I am setting myself up for a lifetime of success and not taking the easy way out.

we sound a lot alike. I am 12 weeks out and still cant eat ground turkey(too dry) or oatmeal. I had a sensitive stomach before the surgery so it doesnt surprise me.
I do well with turkey chili with no beans, yogurt, shakes, ricotta bake, Chic Fil A grilled chicken nuggets, baked or refried beans. I also have an enchilada bake from Costco I eat that is good for me. My menu is pretty plain right now. I never try anything new unless I am with just my husband or at home.
Just keep trying and you will find things. I know within the first 2 bites if it is going to stay so i dont press it.

for sure you will get used to it. I used to drink a TON of water at meals. Now it doesnt even phase me and I am only 10 or 11 weeks out.
