QOTD- Pre-surgery we used to go for the seafood buffet. But it's a waste now, since neither one of us can eat very much. Plus I hate the smoke, since it is an Native American casino you can smoke pretty much any where. And the non-smoking section doesn't have the good slots.

I got the job done that was due yesterday, so I'm on a roll. I over think everything, and worry too much about this stuff. I have another job I need to get done today.

I'm looking for a new series to binge, I finished Only Murders in the Building, and Ghosts UK. Waiting for the new season of The Cleaner on Britbox. Any suggestions?

Have a great day everyone!

QOTD- House cleaning in general.

Not much going on here, I can't seem to get myself focused. I'd pretty much rather do anything but work. I have to pull up my big girl panties and get to it.

QOTD- At one time I wanted to be Alexandra or my middle name Anne. Neither one stuck, and when I was a kid they called me Julie and I absolutely despise that, so now I'm Julia and will correct people if they call me anything else.

I got rid of one horrible project and hopefully I can get the date moved on the next one. It's hard to design something when the job to feed it is not done. The count does not magically get there, it has to follow the cable...OK enough I'm sure no one wants to know about telecom design.

I just paid off my Costco Visa card, it feels so good. Now I can start paying down the Chase card. As long as Elon does not f**k with my social security I'm good. When I'm done paying off my credit card I will think about saving for an actual vacation. I'm not sure I remember what that is. Last time I tried to go was the start of the pandemic and they closed down Disneyland so we basically flew down found out it was closing and flew back. I did get a refund on the 3 day ticket and we were afraid that they would shut down all the flights so we got the next one home. That and it was raining so hard we were soaked to the skin and there really isn't any place to get out of the rain. Worst non-vacation ever.

Have a great day everyone!

QOTD- Mold, mildew, dust mites and minor to cats. But I'll never get rid of my cats. But I was tested years ago, so who knows now.

Rainy and windy and possible thunder and hail coming this way.

I finished the pantry, and moved most everything into it. It's not ideal but it gives me more space. It's harder to add water to the espresso machine, but it will work. My kitchen is really small and doesn't have enough cabinet space. So I was using the Kallax shelf from Ikea in the dining room to store the excess, that doesn't fit in the cabinets. There really isn't any way to enlarge the kitchen without spending a ton of money so it's not happening. I'm not sure how the previous owners with 4 kids survived with this kitchen and tiny dining room, but they lived here for 50 years.

I need to get to work.

QOTD- Absolutely speak to animals.

I got to dry my sheets outside on Saturday. I love the smell of clothes dried outside. I went to the store for plants I got 3 types of tomatoes, lemon cucumbers, red pepper, an artichoke and some annuals. Now I just need to get them in the ground. It was rainy yesterday so at least they are watered. It supposed to clear on Wednesday & Thursday so I'll get them planted then.

Still trying to get the last door on the pantry I bought. Then I will need an extension cord so I can move the espresso machine and coffee grinder. I may have one that will work but I need to figure it out. Beware of furniture that requires assembly.

I didn't make it to a movie but I may go today or tomorrow. I have a counseling appointment today, I'm hoping my other meeting doesn't run late.

I rescheduled my little girl kitties appointment to Thursday, hopefully this time I will be able to get her in the carrier without any mortal wounds to either of us.

Work is calling. Have a great day everyone!

I wish I were that dog, it looks so happy!

QOTD- I donate monthly to Sea Shepherd, All Classical Radio, OPB our local NPR station and I gave to the Friends of Timberline to help rebuild from the fire. I used to volunteer for the Cat Adoption Team and the Portland Women's Crisis Line but it was too triggering. And I wanted to take all of the cats home with me. I need to find a volunteer opportunity.

I'm not sure what was in the air but yesterday my nose wouldn't stop running, so I ended up taking an antihistimine. It's supposed to be 67 today and 69 tomorrow so I'm going to try to get some plants and work on the garden. The last thing that I have to do to the pantry I bought is put the doors on. It was a pain to assemble and I don't read pictures a few words would have helped.

I plan to go to the movies this weekend, I'll probably see Captain America even though I've heard it's not very good but I like to see them on the big screen.

I also need to do something with the greenhouse since it blew away, I've decided to get rid of it. I partially disassembled it but I have to get that done. Since it is going to be nice I might finish that this afternoon.

Have a great day everyone!

QOTD- I'm not sure how old I was but my Mom thought I needed a pixie cut. I hated it and will never go back.

I've been really busy at work and finally got this hairy job done. It was a pain to figure out and ended up being more than I thought it would be. But it's done. So move on to the next one and the one after that...and so on... We've hired a couple more engineers but they won't start until the 21st. So maybe the work load will even out. I don't multitask anymore. I do one at a time and move on when it's done.

Just when I thought the chances of frost were pretty much nil there was a frost advisory for last night. I was talking with my roommate about buying veggie plants and he asked about frost, and I told when they start selling the plants the risk is pretty low, so I was wrong.

I got a mani pedi last night so my nails and toes are happy. Not much else going on.

QOTD- I wouldn't want to survive, life would not be worth it.

I only succeeded in taking one cat to the vet. Romeo wasn't very happy, but the little girl Vee was having none of it. I couldn't catch her and when I did it wasn't pretty. I have a plan for next time.

We didn't get the severe lightning storm and or tornado that was predicted for Wednesday night but today it is really windy and not very warm. We almost thought it was spring with the 77 degree temps. The daffodils are blooming an one of the tulips.

I need to find someone to take the moss off my roof. It's not going to be me as it is a really steep roof and I don't have a ladder. My last house the roof was relatively flat and not very tall so it wasn't a problem. I was on that roof quite a few times with no issues, but I don't want to try this one.

I'm debating restarting my Regal Unlimited movies, there are a couple right now that I would like to see. I just need to actually use it if I do.

I got my smoked salmon so that is pretty much what I've been eating. I ordered 5lbs from Barnacle Bills in Lincoln City. They have the best smoked salmon. Last time I tried vacuum sealing it and freezing it and it was still good. 5lbs is a lot of smoked salmon.

QOTD- Baking bread.

I got one job done yesterday and I have to get another one out today. Then the big one is due Friday. I hate feeling pressured to get them done. But that is what happens now. Production, production production.

I take my kitties in for their shots today. Wish me luck, I brought out the carriers yesterday and one of them actually crawled in. So I'm hoping it won't be much or a struggle.

Nothing exciting going on here.

QOTD- I use a calendar to track my work, and the one on my phone for personal appointments. I can never remember what I worked on so with the calendar it helps a ton for filling out my time sheets.

I took the photo to the vets and no kitties fitting his description have been reported missing. My neighbor has a live trap and she said she would put it out. I'm not sure what to do with him after we catch him. My theory is that someone is dumping cats around here, there are 4 intact males hanging around out here.

QOTD- Chocolate and pb cups, or rocky road. I bought a small one of the choc pb and ate too much. It was bad. Lesson learned hopefully.

There is this pretty grey tabby that has been hanging around, he's an intact male and sprays. He sits on the other side of the sliding glass door and looks in the house. I feel bad for him, he doesn't let me get close to him, so he's probably been abandoned. I was going to check with my vet to see if anyone is missing him. I got pictures of him. He knows what a cat door is since he went in my neighbors house, he was looking for food. I'm not going to feed him, or he won't go away. Any ideas? I was going to see if I could borrow a live trap, but I don't know where I would take him if I caught him. There is also a black and white male that is coming around too. I think someone dumped them.

It's supposed to get up to 77 today, it's that time between heating and A/C. Heat in the morning and A/C in the afternoon.

I've gotta get back to work.

QOTD- Probably band and stage band. I also loved Algebra II.

Cute kitty bed that so far they are ignoring.

It's rainy and cold but supposedly it will be in the 70's this week. My greenhouse blew over again last night, it was really windy. I'm not going to fix it now, I'll wait until it isn't so windy and rainy. It's not staked down which is my fault.

I need to get back to work.

QOTD- I qui****ching the news after 9/11, I could not stand to watch those buildings collapse another time. The only time I tune in is when the weather is bad. I watch KPTV 12, it's a Fox affiliate but I like the people on there and when the weather is bad they pretty much do weather and traffic all day.

Currently 42 degrees, not terrible for the first day of Spring. It's supposed to rain for the next 4 days but it looks like we might hit 73 on Tuesday.

Jim sorry about the rabbits, the scourge that I have is squirrels. The first year I was here they ate all of my strawberries. I bought some mesh and the bendy poles that go with it and so far so good. I actually had strawberries last year. I've given up on corn they dig them up and eat the seed. They haven't bothered any of the bulbs.

Someone puked on the duvet cover last night, so it's in the dryer and the down comforter is in the washer. I still love my kitties though.

I bought this cat bed that goes in the Kallax shelf unit. It's really cute, but so far they haven't used it. I can't get the photo to upload.

QOTD- I love to watch the stars, but here it's only in the summer and rare clear nights. No such luck for the eclipse.

It's not a good week to be a Tesla dealership. The one near me got shot up for the second time in a week. I was driving by on my way to get my nails done. The road was closed, there was police tape across everything and a ton of police. I understand the outrage but there are better ways to express it. The local police, state police FBI and ATF were all at the party. Plus explosive dogs to find the used shells. I'm not sure how these people think that they will get away with it.

I try not to doom scroll, work is hard enough without looking at what the idiots are doing to ruin this country. I think I'm out of outrage, now it's just depression and I know I'm not alone.

Happy Pi day everyone and have a great day!

QOTD- My garden last year wasn't successful. Mostly due to the hot temps and not having a good irrigation system. I live in town but have some raised beds and will plant this year, and put in a drip mist system. In my last house I had a wonderful garden in was in a small area but I managed to grow enough tomatoes to can and other veggies.

I had a Zoom counseling meeting on Tuesday I found out that a lot of us are struggling. I try not to watch the news or doom scroll but sometimes I can't help it. I also went to the eye doctor on Tuesday. I had a corneal tear and my eye was still feeling like I had something in it. The tear is gone but I have dry eyes, so drops are my friends.

I had chickens for a few years, I loved my chickens. They were more like pets than anything. I couldn't keep them safe so after losing 2 of them to raccoons I gave the last one to my neighbor. And having a persistent hawk try to carry them off. My smart chicken hid in the tomato plants. I kept wondering why the hawk was still hanging around. I even sprayed him with a hose to try and get him to leave. I don't eat eggs so I used to give them to my roommate or other people. I just wanted the chickens because I liked them. I would not have them again because there are too many predators. I was watching TV the other night and a big raccoon wandered through the yard. It's not the first time I've seen it either. Raccoons, possums, squirrels and a neighbor caught a cougar on her camera. That's mostly what I see on my cameras are animals.

Beautiful sunny day today, it makes you believe in spring!

QOTD- At work email, but it gets the best of me. I don't sort or file them so I'm constantly searching for them. For personal if it's short a text will do, but I'd prefer to talk.

It's spring, we were officially over 60 yesterday. My crocus and daffodils are starting to bloom. We still had frost last night but it's going to be 64 today, almost warm enough to dry my clothes outside.

I need to see if I can get my yard guys to dig up the rose bushes, I have 5 and they are not attractive and need to go. One is just the root stock with long vines that occasionally put out red roses. I'd like to use the bed for a garden instead, it's the one that gets the most sunshine. Last years garden was a disaster, I'm not going to use seeds. I started them too late and it was too hot, I need to get the drip mist system going so that it will ge****ered more evenly.

TGIF I couldn't stand another day of this torture.

QOTD- Languages would be good, I've tried Spanish and I suck at it.

Wind storm last night, I was lucky and the power didn't go out at my house but there are currently 1110 outages affecting almost 30,000 homes. I hate the wind, as a child I lived through the Columbus Day Storm here in Portland. The power was out for a week and the devastation was incredible. So I really don't like wind.

I am trying not to lose my temper but I've spent yesterday redoing a job for about the 20th time. I'm totally sick of it and about ready to pull my hair out. Hopefully I will survive this with most of my hair.

QOTD- I don't think there should be micro-managing of people on SNAP. People are going to buy what they want. You can't force someone to eat healthy we all know that or we wouldn't be here. The sad thing is that the manufacturers put things in foods to make them more addictive.

I got my hair done yesterday and I get my nails done this afternoon.

My Mom has been having issues with her Credit Union. She's been unable to login for extended periods of time and with the MFA she can't get the code on her landline phone-it no longer calls her, and she isn't fast enough to get in from her email and put it in the login screen. They want me to be there with her, I'm not sure what I can do. I can remote into her computer and help her that way, but this is crazy. I told her to dump this credit union and go with mine, I've been a member since 1978 and have never had issues like this. She will be 90 in May and I realize she isn't very tech savvy any more, but it's so frustrating for her.

My friend from work just got a new puppy, a golden doodle. He's so adorable. Unfortunately he has pneumonia and may not make it. She's had him for less than 7 days and the seller should be responsible for the vet bills. Send her some good thoughts she really needs him to be OK.

QOTD- Rarely, but we used to go to estate sales if there was something interesting.

The fettucine Alfredo was a success. To me it tasted better than Olive Garden. It put shrimp and bay scallops in it. I have a ton left over so that will be my dinner tonight. I was worried about it but it's actually pretty simple and didn't take that much time. I'm not used to using fettucine so it took me longer to cook it. I usually use angel hair pasta and that cooks really quick. So I've learned that lesson.

The sun is peaking out so it almost looks like spring. My daffodils are getting ready to bloom. I'm not sure what happened to the crocuses I had last year. Squirrels maybe, they seem to eat everything else.

I still have about 20 minutes more to work.

QOTD- There is a place here that raises reindeer. I remember going there as a kid. All of the usual but the elk look like big herds of cows standing out in the pastures. They are big, and it seems weird to see them out there in a herd. I was doing some work in Arizona looking at Google maps and the Google truck caught a road runner in mid stride it was cool. There are lots of weird things on Google maps street view.

I'm still not enjoying work, but I gotta make money so there you go. Still waiting for my Oregon tax refund. Initially they said they wouldn't be sending them out until 2/15 and the last time I checked they said 2/18 so I'm still waiting... It's just going to pay my credit cards so it's not like I'm in dire need or anything. It's just frustrating, as I really don't have any patience.

I'm going to attempt to make Alfredo sauce today. It will be shrimp and scallop fettucine. Wish me luck!

We have more snow today, it's supposed to turn to freezing rain later today. We've only got about 2" here but other areas have more. It's supposed to warm up so hopefully this will be gone by tomorrow.

Work is still a pain, everything keeps changing and nothing seems to be good enough. Just so frustrating... If I can survive for the next 18 months I should be able to pay off my bills and then maybe retire or just work part time. It's snowing here! It looks like powder since it's blowing all over the road. It's really windy, the wind kept waking me up last night. I'm with Mel on the sleeping, my brain is the little hamster on a wheel that never stops, it's squeak, squeak, squeak all night long.

Work has been hell, they set us up to fail and when we did they took all of our work away and gave it to another contracting company. When you get 19 jobs all at the same time and they are all due at the same time and you only have 2 full time and 1 part time employee doing the work, how would you expect us not to miss some dates. Plus the process changes and they want more and more on the prints. OK enough I need to get back to it.

I have to check up on my BFF and make sure she and the horses are OK with the snow and all. I had a dream about her last night so I know I need to call her. But I will wait a while, it's still a little early.

It was a horrible night for sleep, I woke at 1 and the cats wouldn't settle down again. So very little sleep was had. I hate that.

Lots of pressure to be productive at work, but I can't seem to get enthused about it. I really just want to retire.
