most surgeons have their patients take a ppi which is often prilosec but there are others. It reduces stomach acid as it can be a problem for newly sleeved people. Ask your surgeon if you should be taking it. I took it before surgery and for a few months after, then switched to a weaker drug and now take none.  Nice work on the smaller pants. you will be able to toss those soon.  Diane

thanks diane... i hate to say i was a failed lap band... and stalled out on my sleeve.. im scared to toss the pants... they were around for my failed lap band...   but i cant wait to say... i WILL not put my self through this AGAIN!!

Hi..

I have been taking prilosec since 5 days before my surgery.(they never told me I shouldve been on it 2 weeks prior). I dont know when Im supposed to stop..so Im going to call the drs.office.
I was given a prescription for the gall bladder medicine(urso?) but told not to start it until 1 month.

I dont know what a ppi is...
