Finally figured-out why I feel so bad after having my protein shake, I'm dumping, yuk... Been trying to explain to people why I dread my shakes and I finally put two and two together. I'm in a little quandry as to what to do now... any suggestions?

Are you making them with milk?  For some reason alot of us VSGers tend to have lactose issues post op. I don't dump but I feel sick if I have too much of it.  Try mixing it with Almond or soy milk.

It doesn't seem to matter if I'm using water or milk, it sucks either way. Thanks for your suggestion.

I cant drink most protien shakes- but I can handle milk just fine.  I add carnation instant breakfast to my milk and eat soft meats or beans for protien.

I see some people using a protien called unjury they can add to anything- might be worth checking out.

I have the stomach unhappiness after protein drinks too.  The first thought was the milk, but after some trial and error we found out that I just can't handle that much whey protein at one time.  So instead of protein powder I had no sugar added carnation breakfast.  I still get all the protein of the milk, plus some flavoring and a few more grams of protein!  Plus it doesn't cause all the stomach issues.

Our nut had us mix regular milk, or soy or whatever you use, with powdered milk to up the protein.  then you can use the concoction with the Carnation instant breakfast.  Make sure you are using the sugar free version.  this will definitely give you the added protein without the whey.  I will say that the farther out you are the easier it will become to get your protein.

Ive read of people here PROLONGING an episode...but to dump repeatedly on protein shakes...doesn't sound likeTRUE dumping to me. I USED to dump...1st episode 2 months out,
4 months out, then 5.5 months out....NEVER AGAIN since!  And it wasn't sugar on two of them, and it wasn't fats on all 3.

I've been drinking two Costco premier Protien shakes every day for six months, and I am suddenly having a problem with them too. I switched and tried the Rob Roy powder, but had the same problem, so I think I just need to lay off the shakes for awhile.
