Thank you for your lovely post!  It is so good to hear from those years out.  It is also good for us all to hear that we still have to be accountable for the food choices we make. Surgery is not a cure all, it is a tool and we have to work on ourselves inside and out.  Keep loving yourself and you will continue to do wonderful!

The love, acceptance, and compassion I gained for myself through this surgery is truly my most treasured gift.
It is definitely about choices, especially after that first year.
You seem like you're doing great, keep it up!

thank you for sharing, it is sometimes hard to admit if we gain, but it is a reality to check too.

I think it's important to remember that the battle doesn't end when you have surgery, or when you hit goal. It's forever. The surgery helps you lose weight, but after a few years your body will adjust and accomodate your system, and then you really do have to work at it. But I can also say that most of the women from my date range, who went before me or shortly after so they're in my time range, are still very successful.

And reality is good!

Thanks!

Thank you, Abbey, for telling it like it is. I'm still pre-op, and know that I need to go into this with my eyes wide open and looking waaaaay down the road to plan for all those years after the "honeymoon" is over.
Karen--SOOOO tired of living life on the sidelines!

Thats a great outlook! And it's nice to see that the board has expanded and changed so much, you'll have a very large support system.
I think you have a really good attitude, and have no dout of your success.
Best of luck!
