People in Louisiana that had Dr. Richardson at Ochsner

I was wondering if anyone that has had their surgery had Dr. William Richardson, and how your surgery went?

I did not have Dr. Richardson and have no personal experience with him. I was self-pay and I went to Surgical Specialists.

However, two years ago I had breast cancer surgery and when I went for clearance for WLS, my oncologist specifically suggested I see Dr. Richardson, said he's very good. I like my oncologist alot, so I would have taken that recommendation, if insurance would have cooperated.

Hey, who was your doctor? I'm doing Surgical Special of La too. I have Dr. Michael Thomas. How was your experience? Your recovery? S S of L come highly recommended from what I've heard. Hope Dr. Richardson does, too! I'm also self pay...  

thank you for your reply..  I know a guy I use to work for that went to Surgical Specialist of LA. and had a RNY there, he LOOKS great..

It has been two years now he has lost over 200lbs..

I have heard Dr. Richardson is  a good doctor..

I go to my support groups at Ochsner, and I know some people have had their surgeries done by him in the group, last time I went I did not think about getting people's phone numbers..

I was also hoping to find someone that had just had surgery with him..

I did not use Dr. Richardson but i did use Dr. Belott at The Surgical clinic of Louisiana which is at West Jeff hopsital on the westbank.  Him and his partner Dr. Treen are wonderful surgeons and were actually the first doctors to perform the sleeve in Louisiana.  I highly recomment them.

 I had Dr. Rachel Moore.

I had zero pain. ZERO.  The worst part was the catheter and the night in the hospital, other than that, smooooth sailing.


I highly recommend.

I have a seminar scheduled with Dr Richardson next week. I was wondering if anyone knows if he does DS? I wanted VSG unfortunately my insurance doesn't cover it and i feel this is a better 2nd option for me. Also if anyone can reccomend a surgeon who does DS that'd be great. I'm new to all of this and unsure of where to begin. I was sent to Dr Richardson by my insurance company because they said he was the closest suyrgeon to me. I have no problems traveling through out louisiana though. Thanks in advance and God Bless :)

I am sorry I am getting back to you on this so late.  I was not on OH much yesterday.  I am unfortunately unsure if Dr. Richrdson does the DS. I know he does the lap band, sleeve and Bypass.

But, they are very good doctor's there.  Both Dr. Richardson and Dr. Wooldridge.  You can not go wrong with going to Ochsner for your surgery.
